Nokosu's a relatively simpleminded creature. Hide in tree, spot small thing, snare with tongue, eat small thing. That's pretty much her entire life.
In fact, she didn't even really have a name until about a month ago. The locals called her things, of course... names befitting a monster of legend, epithets, you name it.
She only recently adopted the name Nokosu when she encountered a foreigner that was rambling on. She heard that in his sentence, and she liked how it sounded. And she can pronounce it! So, now it's her name. And if you want to argue with her go for it, 'cause she's always hungry and can use distracted prey.
