Hailing from the Mana rich world of Zendikar, Nissa Revane believes that elves are the pinnacle of evolution and spits with contempt on such blights as humans. They are nothing more to an elf than potential dinner, and although a quick snack is generally all she wants a slow, mocking, humiliating display of her power over theirs is sometimes exactly what they need.

It was dealing with the vampires of Zendikar, who took her race and contemptibly reduced them to faceless, brainless Nulls without a care for their superiority that drove Nissa to eating one as she had eaten another elf, teaching the vampire about the depths of humiliation and pain while at the same time teaching herself about the pleasure of divulging to another how truly inferior they are to her.

Vengeance burns in Nissa Revane's heart like a torch. She will not forget wounds against her kind or herself and, when given the chance, will pay them back tenfold.
