A note on Nexus' gender: While he looks effeminate in both his angelic and more humanoid forms, he is a male (as displayed when he allows his more humanoid form to be 'revealed').
Very few people know that
AluLilu has a brother... Well, half-brother, rather. Fewer can actually tell that the two are brothers, or
siblings for that matter. True, the both of them sport somewhat girlish features in certain areas, but the paler Nexus is the far more androgynous of the two. This mainly lies in the fact that he takes more after his father than his mother, though even in Heaven he was known for his rather effeminate appearance, his soft voice, and his gentle demeanor... Well, initially gentle. After his mother was cast from heaven and Alu was born, he gave in to his primal hatred of those cast from the Heaven's golden streets. Realizing this hatred in his heart, he requested to be cast from the streets until the object of his hate had been removed and he could once again be returned to his peaceful state. Reluctantly, Michael and Raphael agreed to his request, and he was henceforth cast with the Mark of the Fallen, which would deny him safe passage through Heaven's Gate until it had been removed.
Since Alu's older brother had been cast down to the Earth, he has often taken the guise of a mortal man, the only indicator of his origins to be found on his form being the emblem of the Sun burned into the back of his right hand, often covered by some form of a fingerless glove. In most time periods, he's taken the form of a traveling bard or musician (although he has learned his singing acts as an aphrodisiac to some mortals, something that slightly distresses the relatively chaste angel), often to throw off those that pursue him (usually the paranormally active members of the Church that pursue him, thinking of him as a true Fallen One or a demon, or the obsessed). Every now and then, he assumes his true form, spreading six onyx wings from his back and donning a mass of halos, as well as attire that barely conceals his pale skin. He commonly takes this form to battle demons, regardless of location, creating some rather fantastic rumors and legends.
While capable of sensing demons in the immediate area, Nexus is not capable of directly pinpointing demons from other areas of the world. This has made tracking down his brother incredibly difficult, but he thinks he has found the other boy here in this Park. Fitting that Nexus would enter the Nexus, a place where he would be free to assume his normal form... The only question is, would he?
