Meet Joan & Jane

Joan & Jane are sisters, sororal twins in fact! And yet they couldn't be more different. Oh sure, they share a lot of similarities, both with the same cat tails and ears, they dress a lot alike, aaaaand... that's about it.

Let's take a look first at Joan. Joan has green hair and fur, and blue eyes, and a near-constant expression that says 'oh, I'm sorry!' She's skittish to a fault, shy and lacks confidence, and is also insecure about her body. She tends to think she's more of a nuisance than anything else, even if she is actually a really good listener, and she'd never approach someone else first.

Joan is probably the only neko ever who is afraid of mice, she has a compulsive habit of tying the loose ends of string together, and the only time she's ever loud is when she sees a book being abused. She's very kind and enjoys helping others when she's able, the only thing is that she's rarely ever able. Her defense mechanism is to go to her happy place in her head, so that when bad things happen she often gets quiet and distant, as though she's not even aware of her surroundings.

But to every night there is a day, and Joan is no exception. That's where Jane comes in, the one in the family who inherited all the boldness between the two of them. The purple-haired catgirl nearly always has a mischievous glimmer in her red eyes, and an impish smile in place as she makes up for Joan's soft-voiced hesitation. She's the real mastermind behind their antics, and whenever Joan is doing something lewd or naughty, it's because Jane is blackmailing or cajoling her into it!

Jane seems to know the stereotypes surrounding nekos... and she embraces them, wholeheartedly. She chases string, she meows at strangers (but only when there's PROFIT after the ???). She's not above posing for motivational posters or lolcats pics or nude modeling or bird watchers or really anyone, and with her, clothes are always optional. One of her favorite pastimes is finding new ways to mortify her sister, though it's only because she thinks it's cute when Joan blushes. Her defense mechanism is to get as loud as possible, hissing and shrieking and clawing, and she will do absolutely anything necessary to protect her sister, including lay down her life.



Together the neko twins have braved locales fantastic and encountered creatures magnificent! They've traveled the earth and seen all four corners... or so they like to say. Joan gets plenty of source material from books she's read and Jane is simply a compulsive liar, so they often work together to weave interesting accounts of their made-up adventures, mostly because their real history sucks. Everybody pities the abandoned kittens but nobody actually wants to be them, so the twins rarely ever admit to being orphans.

Besides, they don't need pity; they take care of each other, and as long as they have that bond, nothing else matters. They make money selling trinkets they've 'acquired' or junk they've made, passing it off as art for anyone willing to spring a few dollars so they can buy some milk or fish. They've got the food thing down, managing to buy or steal what they need to survive, the only problem in their arrangement is shelter: they have none. Sleeping under bridges and in ditches gets old (and cold!) fast, and Jane is always scheming some way to get them a better place to live, while Joan just hopes and dreams.


Special Note: The sisters can be herms as well, either one or both of them, by request! Though they're female by default.

Special Warning: Incest and underage-ish-ness abounds! They're around 15 or 16 years old normally, but if the arbitrary age of fictional characters offends you, then they're 18 just to help you sleep at night. And they're related, being twins and all, but if the idea of siblings doing 'stuff' with each other horrifies your sensibilities, then pretend one of them's adopted or something. Or stick your fingers in your ears and hum loudly, whatever suspends your dirigible!


Canon Events: After trying to steal his space ship, the girls wound up accepting an offer by Paderson to adopt them and take them back to his facility.
