Every actor needs his agent, every business its PR department. All the talent and ability and power in the world is meaningless if no one knows about it! That's why religions tend to have members of the clergy, priests or pastors, even shamans and witchdoctors, people who fill in the role of leading a deities congregation, giving them orders and commands, listening to their requests and woes, and guiding them in worshiping the gods or goddesses they serve. Some find themselves corralled into this line of work, while others are lured in by the promise of a steady salary, varying on their deity's perception of wealth and modesty. But some are genuinely called to serve the divine, wanting nothing more than to give their life to bringing honor and fame and pleasure to those far greater than themselves.

Take this curvy catgirl, for instance. Her name is Faith, a fitting name though her parents never intended it to be so ironically appropriate. Ever since Faith was a kid, she possessed the ability to see into the other realm, to witness events and view beings that most others can only imagine. Her parents took her to several 'experts' in the field who gave diverse judgements of her mental and psychological health, but eventually they took her to a psychic, who brought up the notion that she was a gateway to the spirit world, a being who existed in both our reality and the astral plane simultaneously. For Faith, it meant that she often had ghosts playing tricks on her, or haunting her, but at the same time the young neko realized, she had a chance to be something more.

It all started when she was in the town square of her home village. Being a poor city of mostly catfolk, there were frequent kidnappings and giantess attacks for food, and the hard times made people turn to religion for answers or hope. A crowd had formed to listen to a new 'god,' a man who claimed to be supernatural and performed 'miracles' to prove it. He had the public swayed, but Faith saw through his act and realized he was nothing but a con man. After she pointed out his ruse, the townspeople... kicked her out of town. Sometimes logic just doesn't work.

So then she wandered, in the desert, searching for a purpose, a real supernatural being to whom she could devote herself completely.
