This daiyokai has no tragic backstory. She has no arch nemesis or star-crossed lover. She is what she was meant to be and that is all; a being that feeds off of the discomfort of others. She doesn't hate her purpose; doesn't bemoan being seen as a scourge upon wherever it is she is headed. All in all, Nanami cares very little about what happens in her life, so long that it continues and she is able to do as she wishes.

She was born with the union of two other daiyokai just like herself, and grew out of childhood and adolescence without incident. Her tails came in as expected. At first, they didn't think there was anything spectacular about her or her powers. Many other Antagonistically-bound beings reveled in every ounce of torment they could cause. Nanami was so mild that they thought she was weak... It wasn't until her adolescence that they began to catch on to the extreme reserves she possessed. Her parents and those around her were astonished to see how indifferent she seemed toward taking as many as she could. Overall in the grand scheme of things, she wishes not for more power or to conquer or to destroy anything, despite her being one of the strongest daiyokai in the known world. She only wants to do what she was born to do.

Occasionally in her adult life, she has assisted Kuudere and other 'philanthropic demons' in stopping some of the power-hungry yokai's attempts at over-dominating the mortals. Make no mistake, this is not because she cares about them; it is only because she wishes for the balance to be kept in place. With less mortals, there is less food for her and the rest of her kind.

Trivia:
1. Nanami has a unique method she normally utilises for feeding. Basically, she antagonises her prey. When beings are in distress, they radiate off a certain energy that Nanami's kind can use for sustenance. After feeding off of a being once, they become marked, making it easy for the yokai to locate them for further feeding.

a.) The mark is invisible to the naked eye; one must have both spiritual powers and needs to be actively looking for it to find it if it doesn't belong to them.

b.) However, when looking for 'marks,' they can tell how powerful the yokai is that placed it. This normally keeps lesser demons from 'stealing' meals from stronger ones.

2. In times of bountiful quality food, most of Nanami's kin keep to their own meals. But if there is a particularly quality bit of soul to feed from, there will be skirmishes on who has the right to claim it. When breaking a mark placed by another yokai, the demon breaking the seal absorbs the energy used to place it. This in itself is enough to sate them for several days.

a.) The yokai that placed the mark becomes aware that it has been broken.

b.) Many yokai will break bonds of stronger demons if food supply is scarce or if there is a particularly prime soul. Because Nanami is so strong, most don't attempt to lay claim to anything with her mark on it.
