Namazu

ナマズ, or Namazu, as her name is spelled in Romanji, was named by a rather unimaginative Otaku that discovered her as a kitten. The girl is, quite literally, part cat-girl, part mermaid, and so the name 'Catfish' seemed appropriate at the time. She grew up in Japan, taking refuge in both salty and fresh water, occasionally carried around in a tank by her former owner until she grew a bit too large for him to lug around everywhere. Seeing as he could not afford a large enough aquarium to keep her content (and that he lived in a relatively small apartment), he ultimately set Namazu free into the wild, and she's traveled the world ever since.

In times of crisis, particularly after Tsunamis or Typhoons have struck Japan, she will return to her home country to check on her former keeper and to try to aid in rescue efforts. At times, many thought she was Nomazu, a monster thought to cause these earthquakes, and thus her help was not so eagerly accepted. Though, honestly, she's only a bit larger than the average human, anyway, coming to about seven feet in length.

This isn't without reason, really... Namazu, though she doesn't really know it, is a descendent of the legendary giant catfish monster, Nomazu. As such, she has inherited some of his magical capabilities, and some of her own. Amongst these powers, she has the ability to create tremors (though she cannot create full-blown earthquakes unless she focuses), sense or read the strength of earthquakes with her whiskers, kiss a land-dweller and grant them the ability to breathe in water temporarily, as well as other magical capabilities she has yet to discover.

Namazu is omnivorous and can eat humans or humanoid creatures, even going so far as to swallow them whole if she gains the opportunity and the situation is appropriate (she tends not to do this in times of national crisis, due to some odd ethical code she has adopted). However, she is not very strong, and usually will stop if too much resistance to her attempts is presented, perhaps holding too much respect for the willpower to live to actively resist it.

Never/Dislike I'm working on the other sliders later, but I'm tired of this and I'm going to make it clear now:
OoC: Out of Character, not interested in scenes, does not want to be in character, lurking. Do NOT message me expecting RP, and do not message me in-character unless I message you as such first.
DND: DO NOT DISTURB. There are no exceptions, unless I whisper you first or we were in an RP that I'm throwing this tag up to focus on, in which case I shall warn you ahead of time of what I'm doing.
