A brief OOC message Before I get into more flavorful and 'fluffy' descriptions, I figured I'd give a brief, simple OOC synopsis. This is taking the basic idea of the Pokemon Mystery Dungeon games and spinning it off to make a fully fleshed out and detailed Pokemon World for people to explore. An actual World of Pokemon, where humans are absent, little more than myth, the Legendaries and Mythics (from here on referred to as gods) ruling over the land physically and demonstrably in varied and drastically different kingdoms, often in conflict with each other. The mystery dungeons of the games this is based on do appear, but they are rare, baffling occurrences. They are Distortions in the fabric of the world, where a portion of the land is warped into a near endless labyrinth full of danger. They are temporary, and often if one can reach the center of these places and find the source, that pokemon can then remove the dungeon then and there, often to the praise and celebration of whatever land this took place in.

Think of it a bit like...a standard fantasy setting, but instead of elves, orcs, dwarves, dragons and so forth, it's all pokemon!

Now, a few quick ground rules before we get into it.
1. If you're pure prey, I'm probably not interested.
2. There are no humans, a human could be sent here, but they'd be turned into a pokemon, like the Mystery Dungeon games.
3. You can do practically anything, be an explorer, guard, merc, bandit, or whatever!
4. Typically, the pokemon that run the cities and nations of the world will be anthro or gijinka (your choice). The wilds however, can have feral pokemon if you want to. These would be proper animalistic, behave as such, and would be wild, threatening and dangerous. The only rule if you do have feral pokemon with your anthro/gijinka, is that you can't penetrate the ferals, only be penetrated by them.
5. This is typicaly meant for longer, planned roleplays, not one-shots or grab'n'gulp.
6. Legendaries are much, much stronger than in the games. Be very careful if you want to challenge the ruling class.

Long ago, well before the nations stood, before the Gods carved out their homes, the entirety of creation existed in a world of darkness. Pokemon struggled for survival, and all light was swallowed up by a terrible evil. It was a time of brutal torment and destruction, where the only way to survive was to be strong enough to impress one's will upon all others around them. From this darkness, came the mother, the Highest of the High, Arceus herself. She carved creation from the darkness, and forged the world, she bestowed upon it a light beyond the reach of that endless hunger, and birthed the gods that would safeguard and rule over the world, seeing to its structure, its people, and the well being of their people.
Palkia and Dialga were created to see to the structure of creation, space that there would be boundaries and things within them, time that things could progress and advance.

Groudon and Kyogre were born, given governance over water to sustain, and land to live, while Rayquaza was given dominion over the skies, overseeing all.

Mew came, an assistant to the creator the primogenitor of almost all pokemon upon the face of the world.

Kyurem was made, to fashion and hold truth and hope, justice and ideals to the pokemon of this new world.

Lugia and Ho Oh were born, one taking to the skies, spreading peace and hope, while the other plumbed the oceans, bringing tranquility and enlightenment.

Yveltal and Xerneas were fashioned, that the cycle of life and death could start, ensuring the growth and health of the world, and Zygarde to watch over them, and ensure they remained in balance.

Regigigas grew, a more deft hand a compatriot to Groudon and Kyogre who would help arrange the land in ways that better suited what was needed.

Finally, Arceus appointed the great guardian, the one who was to stand against the hungering dark that now lurked outside of creation. A blessed daughter to ensure the well being of the world.

Many know this tale, passed down through generations. For whether it be in the frigid wastes of Kyurem's land, or the peaceful, happy kingdom of Mew, Arceus is recognized and worshipped as the mother of all...but not is as well as it could have been. The peace that Arceus had wanted for her kingdom was long shattered by bickering gods, the guardian meant to oversee and protect the whole of her world gone, sealed away in a distorted world. Yveltal rules over a land of death and darkness, kept from spreading her destruction by the bulwark of Cresselia and a great army of fairy types. Groudon sits in the middle of one of the great continents, her people ever warring and fighting, there main goals to spread conflict and combat to all the world. Kyurem is split, a cold, empty void of a creature, while Reshiram, representing truth, and Zekrom, representing Ideals, stand in stark contrast to the other. To gods that Arceus had never even intended to exist.

Palkia and Dialga stand aloof from the world, their kingdoms on an isolated island, separate from the woes of the rest of the world. Yet, pokemon continue their lives, advancing their towns and cities, worshipping the gods that rule over them as they go about their business. Some nations, such as Mew's Kingdom, are pleasant, even peaceful places, but in all lands, there are vast stretches of wilderness, where pokemon live, villainous bandits, or even just wild, near feral tribalists that reject common society all together, and then there are the Mystery Dungeons.

None know for sure what they are, they are great distortions in a place, warping the very fabric of the place and twisting it into an ever-shifting, endless labyrinth. If somehow one could find their way to the center, often there one finds some source or cause of the distortion, even a way to fix it. Yet, as of late, as the years pass, these freakish occurrences grow slowly more common, and the people began to whisper and murmur of some great catastrophe approaching, with the dungeons an omen of worse things to come.
