Rules for roleplaying

I’ve gotten to the point where I grown tired of people conducting themselves with bad manners with me in the middle of a roleplay or outside interaction. So I’ve finally decided to sit down and conduct myself a small list of roleplaying rules that I wish for my partners to abide to. The friends that I have gained throughout my time here at Eka’s don’t have to follow this list. This is specifically for the people who I roleplay with for the first time, and this list will become unnecessary as I get to know their players better.

1. This one is an obvious one. Be kind in me. I’m a naturally kind person and I will treat you with far more respect and kindness than the average person will. If you don’t do the same for me, I probably won’t have much to do with you. Again, fairly obvious.

2. If I already know you on another alternate, please tell me before we play. This player ranks player/player interactions very highly and enjoys making friendships with others. If I know you, tell me so I can greet you properly. ^^

3. If you want to roleplay with me, you must stay there the entire time. If you have to leave for whatever reason, tell me that reason and if you are going to be back or not. A disconnect every now and then is understandable, but if you do it and disappear the first time we roleplay I will not roleplay with you anymore.

A player is given a period of 30 minutes to return after a disconnect. After this period, the player will start to look for a new RP.

4. No ‘tit for tat.’ Tit for tat is doing something one particular player doesn’t enjoy with the promise of doing something they do enjoy in a future roleplay. If we are going to roleplay, then it is going to be something we both enjoy. Period and end of story. Don’t bother making this kind of offer to me. And for you innocent folks out there, 90% of the people that ask this will abandon you the moment that the final words are written and everyone says their goodbyes after they promise ‘tit for tat’. Don’t bother with them.

That’s it. And really that’s all that is necessary. We’re roleplaying back and forth on the internet. Things shouldn’t be too hard to handle if you’re an honest person.
