You spend your days above the surface enjoying the sunshine that has been afforded to you. Predators and prey species both basking in the warmth of the outside world...
but have you ever thought about how the real danger might come from below?
Deep within the sewers, lies a creature that feeds off of and grows on the waste that surface dwellers have released and uses such things to grow strong. A predator created from the world above to rule the world below. He has no name, He is a Muk.
If you live in the city, chances are you aided in his rise to power below. You've created a king of bad odors and thick sticky goo. And he may just thank you someday by making his way up your sewer pipes and taking you away.
Some people have asked how he reproduces. And it's actually different than other creatures. If he captures you, and manages to consume you, he turns you into more of the purple sludge that makes up his body. oh no you're not dead either...See...you ARE that sludge that makes up his body and very much alive and sentient. Can you move around on your own and away from him? no...well...not unless he wants you too. Anyone he consumes and makes into more of himself, he can split apart into a muk like version of themselves. In this way he is sort of giving birth to you in a new fasion as his offspring. though he can just as easily pull you right back into his mass so if he's feeling generous enough to give you a body to move around in again, you'd best behave and be a good son/daughter.
People who the Muk has eaten and turned into mini muk's:
Goomburp: This Muk came across the Goomba as he was coming out of the city sewers. After a bit of a fight between the two, he was able to consume and absorb Burpy. Turning him into a Muk-ified Goomba and the first of his "sons" and "daughters" he has set out on the world to consume the surface dwellers and add more to his own body.
