Mugetsu is the younger twin sister of Gengetsu and together they live in their own dimension occupied by just the two of them. As they've spent what seems to be an eternity in their own world, the two sisters quickly grew close to one another and their sisterly love soon developed further into a true love.
Mugetsu often wears maid outfits made by Gengetsu primarily at her elder sisters insistence. She doesn't complain of course and has actually come to like wearing them, both because she loves her sister and because she looks cute in the outfits.
