'Haunted' places are usually avoided for silly reasons. Creaky noises, shoddy pictures of ghosts, people 'seeing' things that aren't there...
Regardless, it does make it difficult for Moya here to find things to snuggle and snack on, so she's taken to wandering.
Yes, Moya is a ghost! She was a priestess once, we think... ages and ages ago... sacrificed for some silly ritual back when that was still the thing to do. She just wanted to take care of her village, though... and that protective, snuggly mothery instinct continues on today. 'cept she just wants to take care of everyone by squeezing, snuggling, and swallowing them up.
So she's a friendly, squishy, snuggly ghost. That's the best kind!
