Mother_Deathclaw

A mother deathclaw is truly a creature to be feared, for not only is she a deathclaw, she is also a mother protecting her young.

Female deathclaws, also called mothers or matriarchs, are fewer in numbers. They mate only with Alpha Males, Deathclaw Mothers are second only to the legendary deathclaw in ferocious might and can run faster than the Alpha Males, though they do slightly less damage and have slightly less health. Only one female is the pack mother at a given time, with another female taking her place when she dies.

Mother deathclaws can be distinguished from males by their dark blue color, taller and heavier-built than regular deathclaws, a thick dewlap, long backwards-sweeping horns, short back-spikes, and a long tail ending in six sharp spines similar to a Stegosaurus. They also seem to have a bloated abdomen, presumably from eggs.

They lay their eggs in dark, secluded holes, and protect them fiercely. If anything attacks or even kills one of their babies, Deathclaw Mothers will go into a blind rage, killing everything in sight that isn't a deathclaw.
