"No, not Scoo.. Moddey Dhoo. Moddey. One of the black dogs of the british isle! It doesn't even sound si--whatever, I'm taking your stuff now."

By day, mild-mannered, 19-year old college student Tsuki Kuroinu, by (some) nights, dashing Gentle(wo)man thief, Moddey Dhoo!

... What? You don't think she looks the part? That's the entire point!

Okay, granted, she is also fairly new to this business. Three years ago, she recieved a letter at the age of 16 from her long-absent father, revealing to her that he was noneother than the infamous (and now incarcerated) thief the Black Shuck, whose daring heists and stunning escapes had captivated her, ever since she was a child--

And here she was, discovering she was (probably one of) his children! But more importantly, with that knowledge, she recieved her 'inheritance' (a bit early)-- her father's mask, and, more importantly, her father's ability to step through shadows. Taking this, and her knowledge of her heritage, she decided to take up her father's work, and created Moddey Dhoo, a woman thief to stalk through the night! A skilled thief, dressed in--okay. Look. Black spandex is expensive, and, what's more, impractical: You've got nowhere to hide anything, for starters. No, her outfit's a sleek black button-down, atop a black dress shirt, and black dress pants, black gloves, and a white domino mask.
Whether as a side-effect of her abilities, or the mask's own power, it does serve to conceal her identity. Not to an absurd degree--if she removed the mask in front of someone else, or ducked around a corner and took only the mask off, people would be able to rather easily put two and two together--and, indeed, anyone digging long enough might be able to figure it out--but there does seem to be some small glamour that keeps her identity from being obvious.

Tsuki treats this, to some extent, as a game, albeit a very dangerous one. The entire point is the spectacle, not the money from whatever object she steals! (Granted, she also hasn't found a good fence yet.) She does take comissions, though she'll evaluate each request before deciding whether or not to follow through--more than once, she's decided a would-be employer was a jerk, and decided to steal from them instead! For now, her escapades are rather small-scale--some even simply her breaking in, leaving a calling card, setting off an alarm, and sneaking back out--but her skills are steadily improving.

And the shadow-stepping helps. It should be noted that it isn't teleportation: Tsuki must not only be able to see where she is stepping to, she must be able to actually move--grab her arm, and she's not going anywhere. Further, the shadows she travels through must be large enough to fit her, including her own. Lastly, it must be an actual shadow: a pitch-black room robs her of her abilities just as much as a brightly lit one. The fuzzier and more illdefined the shadow, the more likely her ability will fizzle and fail. She tries not to rely on it too much, but it's come in handy in a pinch more than once.

Rumors said that Black Shuck could do more than move through the shadows, though---stories spun about how he could bend them to his will, bind people with them, lock them in place! Tsuki hasn't figured out any of that yet, but perhaps it will come in time!
