Her species is rival to Mer'Nuk's...but she has converted (After a battle with the warrior princess herself though). Her kind is highly advanced, more so than Mer'Nuk's species...yet...they are still tribal, seeking to annihilate anything not complying with the will of their militaristic god 'Oharu'. Their weapons can make organic matter ignite on impact, and the burning pain isn't just in the body, but in soul as well...the idea, pain becomes too much, and the body stops functioning, yet the soul continues to be in pain for it's afterlife as punishment for it's betrayal of 'Oharu'.
However, Mitani's weapon shoots instant killing, painless bullets...no matter where they hit, a special poison halts nervous system functionality, shutting the body off in a way. The soul is not tormented and proceeds to it's afterlife unharmed. Her reason, she hates causing pain if she doesn't have too.
Due to her militaristic background and her ending up in America, she has taken a liking to the USMC, joined, and now uses this as a sort of disguise for her alien origins. Her friends know, but thanks to government coverup by the CIA, no one else does. She is a US Marine and a Long Rifle Specialist (AKA Sniper, for those of you that don't know what they call that :P).
