Backstory

An earthy and spiritual young woman from a backwoods Pentecostal community in the bayous of Louisiana, Misty Day is misunderstood due to her ability to bring souls back from the dead (i.e. the power of resurgence). Her gift was revealed one fateful day when she encountered a dead bird at a church seminar. As a natural lover of nature, she picked up the bird and used her powers on it. When the bird, now alive and well, flew from her hands, everyone attending the seminar witnessed the event. Although some saw her gift as a blessing from God, others in her community saw her as a necromancer and a threat to the community. With the thought that the threat would be eliminated if she were to die, Misty was eventually captured by religious extremists, who accused her of performing the work of the Devil and burned her at the stake. However, with the help of her powers and a mastery of healing from local swamps, the execution was rendered pointless when she managed to recover from her "death".


With the goal of hiding herself from the public, Misty spends her days wandering the swamps of New Orleans. Although covens for witches exist in her area, she has built herself a shack to live in due to an inability to find a coven to call her own. She entertains herself by listening to Stevie Nicks, insisting that the lead singer from Fleetwood Mac is a witch, which she interprets through the lyrics of the songs. Though she seems to do well by herself, the few visitors she encountered would easily have recognized the woman's loneliness, though no one seems to do anything to relieve her fear of abandonment.


Misty is very much in tune with nature, and although she withholds very strong feelings of opposition against killing, she will not hesitate to punish those who disrespect it. She spends most of her time meditating and tending to her gardens, and those who do come close to her claim to hear Stevie Nicks songs playing nearby. Although she spends much time hiding, she is not one to refuse a visitor, no matter what they may be, as long as they don't intend to cause any harm.


Appearance & Style

Misty Day is a young witch with attractive and ethereal looks. She appears to be in her mid to late twenties, and although she may not seem very bright at times, her intelligence is actually beyond her years. She is 5'8", has wavy, chest-length blonde hair, fair skin and crystalline blue eyes. She appears to have a healthy, muscular build which is most noticeable at her arms and legs. Due in part to her extensive affinity for nature and her unconditional love for and idolization of music legend Stevie Nicks, she dresses in a bohemian style. Her wardrobe consists mostly of lace cardigans, ankle-length skirts, and gypsy-style dresses, and it is not uncommon to find her donning an elegant shawl. She does not usually wear earrings since her ears are hidden behind her hair, instead choosing to dangle multicolored feathers from her earlobes so they can be seen at her neck and shoulders. Earthly substances hang from the multiple necklaces she accessorizes with in addition to various rings on her fingers and bracelets decorated with tiny seashells. Everything is usually topped off with a pair of high-heeled boots. In short, Misty's style has a much closer correspondence with that of a gypsy than a witch, though it seems she identifies as both.


Powers

Resurgence: Misty's strongest ability. She has the power to bring anything and anyone back from the dead. Such powers are different from necromancy in that rather than simply reanimating the dead, she is able to pull spirits from the great beyond and restore them with all memories intact. Essentially, subjects will return to the state they were in prior to their death. Misty successfully revived many entities in the past and, with practice, has even learned to resurrect herself.

Telekinesis: Misty can manipulate objects with the power of her mind. Levitating, pushing, pulling, and throwing object and entities without touching them are but a few ways in which Misty can use this ability.

Concilium: This ability allows Misty to impose her will onto the mind of another. In other words, possession of this power means that Misty is capable of the free use of mind control. Though she doesn't often use it without provocation, this is one way she is likely to defend herself from danger.

Divination: Using a special extra-sensorial awareness, Misty can detect knowledge about objects, people, and other entities without actually having any physical contact with them. She can see happening of the past and future in relation to a chosen object or entity and pick out things like location or status. The ability works best for her during or following meditation.

Transmutation: This power is also known as teleportation. Misty is able to travel from one place to another without occupying the physical space in between. There are few limitations to the length of travel, but the power is much more difficult to use in unfamiliar territory.

Descensum: This power allows Misty to travel into the netherworld. It causes a decent of her soul into her own sector of Hell where her greatest fears live. If a witch stays in such a place for too long, their body may die and result in them being stuck there. However, a return will strengthen a user and make them less likely to be affected by fears.

Healing: Misty is also gifted with what she sees as an art of nursing. She has the unique power to use the gifts of Mother Nature in the best way possible. She is known for a potion made of swamp mud and other natural ingredients which, when slathered over a wound, will burn through scars and damage with its amazing healing properties. She often applies this potion to anyone she resurrects who was heavily wounded.


Relationships

Icy_howls - Misty came across Nushi while spending time training in the forest. After witnessing her revive "murdered" wolf corpses and take down two hunters with said wolves, the two developed a rather unlikely friendship. She stuck around in his forest with him for a decent amount of time after.


Dean_Winchester - Misty's relationship with Dean is probably the strongest of the lot. She established an odd friendship with him while being hunted by witch hunters. The hunt lead to her being shrunk, and as a result, Dean swallowed her whole to keep her safe (of course, one of his friends ensured it would be safe first). Ever since, the two have been very close (and the monster hunter has taken quite a liking to her taste...)
Later on, when she created a potion that took on the effect of her powers, she tested it on herself by instructing Dean to ingest and digest her as he would food after she drank it. Fortunately, the potion turned out to be a success.

Madison_Montgomery - Misty and Madison have a history, and by history it is more appropriate to say bad blood. Madison was already a part of the coven that Misty eventually joined. In fact, the first interaction the two young witches had involved Misty, upon request by another member of the coven, returning life to Madison's decomposing corpse after the girl's throat was slit. When Misty was soon taken under the wing of Miss Robichaux's Academy, she was heavily recognized for her immense power, invoking jealously in Madison. When it seemed that Misty would become the coven's next Supreme witch, Madison acted out. She brought Misty to a graveyard to display her own resurrection powers, which actually ended up being a trick and lead to Madison trapping Misty in a casket. Misty was rescued by one of the stronger witches of the coven later on, and when she returned, her peaceful nature temporarily dropped as she beat the Hollywood starlet to a pulp. When it was determined that neither of the two witches were the Supreme, they parted ways, but a beef still seems to exist between the young sorceresses.

Yulia_Kowalchuk - Yulia was the first person in the Nexus to be revived by Misty. She came across one of the girl's ice skates and used it as a tool to bring her back. The two developed a small friendship afterwards.

Elsa_Wheeler - Misty vaguely recognized Elsa from the news when she saw her in New Orleans once. Unaware of the woman's sociopathic roots, she befriended and aided her in a process to prevent her from being further identified. She handed over a vial of the potion she created and tested with Dean, knowing that it would slightly alter her DNA once she reformed. By using divination, she also found the best person for Elsa to be preyed on as she found a need to be reformed.

Sister_Mary_Eunice - Misty stumbled across Sister Mary Eunice one day, unaware that the nun was not only a distant relative, but was the Devil herself. While the demonic creature was hard to break through, Misty helped Mary Eunice to gain enough self control to tame the evil inside her whenever she could. The nun seems to be exceptionally good at this when Misty is around, but is, and will always be, far from perfect.
