7. BIO

A (comparatively) young elf, Misa's youthful appearance belied her extensive experience. A member since the good old days when the Guild was little more than a local pub and an adventurer profile got you free drinks, she'd completed enough quests to fill an entire cabinet at Guild Headquarters and tangled with nearly every monster in the Encylopedia.

But she also watched as adventuring slipped from the hands of professionals and into the arms of the public; saw as lots of excited young adventurers signed up, only to never return from their first quests. Misa joined to protect the weak from danger...but what was she to do when the weak were grabbing cheap swords and heading themselves into the unknown?

Although it earned her plenty of snickers from her fellow Scouts, Misa took to hanging around the novices in the Messenger Corps, offering everything from advice to sparring practice to anyone who asked. She even began joining low-level quests, where — although she rarely loosed an arrow — her experience and quick reflexes helped to keep countless novice parties from becoming monster food. Soon, her drinks were free again: this time thanks to the countless adventurers who saw her as a sister and refused to let her buy her own.

PART II - REGISTRATION & ADVENTURER APTITUDE TEST

8. PROCTOR REMARKS

Naturally skilled with a bow, but also refreshingly competent in light melee. Also possesses a basic knowledge of Elf-magic.

Could stand to improve her defense, but as she correctly points out: if she's blocking blows, something's already gone very wrong.

16. REMARKS

Nobody thought to worry much when Misa first disappeared. Although it was unlike her to vanish as she had, in the middle of guiding a group of novices to their first posting, a Scout's life was full of sudden surprises; they assumed she'd run off to handle something much more important than they were. The adorable, all-too-convincing staff of the inn at which she'd been last seen insisted as much.

She was runoff, all right.

It was only weeks later, when villagers downstream began to find strange things in their fishing nets, that Misa was marked missing: the furled, tattered remains of a grass-green skirt; a squashed leather glove, long emptied of its twitching hand; and most distinct of all, a coiled hairball of long, auburn hair bleached black, still twisted around a distinctive golden hairtie. To the countless adventurers whose lives she had touched, amongst whom rumors of her passing spread faster than a racing centaur, even that wasn't enough to convince them of her ultimate fate – at first. But when a local child dug her cherished Survey Corps pin out of the river muck, the Guild could no longer deny the awful truth.

Misa, who had lived for so many years, who had touched so many lives, who deserved a hero's sendoff, died alone and unknown, her ignoble remains released furtively into the river to mix with the mud. Perhaps it was appropriate she would end up like so many of the naive rookies whose paths she crossed. An elf's long life still had to end...and for Misa, her end was to be squeezed out of someone else's.
