When people think of heaven and hell they consider the opposite realms of the afterlife where they go to following their deaths. Good souls transcend to heaven to spend their afterlife in total bliss. Bad souls however descend to hell, to repent for their sins in life in their death. Every culture, every religion has its own varying versions of heaven and hell. But they're all wrong. The truth is that the myths and various beliefs of heaven and hell all come from a single source: The Shade sisters.
Mireya herself is the Heavenly reaper, who tracks down the "Innocent" or "Good" souls to send them to their own afterlife....though that afterlife is not quite perhaps what they would have imagined. Quite simply she 'reaps' their souls with her scythe and when it is in her possession, she devours it. Heaven is not quite somewhere in the sky's filled with angels....quite simply it's in her stomach and filled with gurgles.
It's not such a bad afterlife in truth. Mireya is known to often take the requests of the souls she guides into herself in earnest and in truth her entire body is heaven, not just her stomach. It might not be a fully comforting thought to those who learn the truth of heaven, but at least they get some say in the matter! And if they resist then....that just means Mireya gets to have a little fun before guiding those good souls to their afterlife.
The Heavenly reaper does not reap corrupt or bad souls however, that is the job of her younger sister Rana. Mireya may sometimes accompany her little sister in her own reapings and aid in the capture of such souls, but bad souls must always end up in their rightful place....the insides of Rana.
