We go to great lengths to see our cattle happy. Visitors are offered the chance to be inspected to find out if they'd make great cattle.  Anyone who gets inspected and receives a passing grade gets a prize, being both a hormone shot to enlarge breasts, buttocks and thighs (may cause a permanent severe drop in IQ) and either $10 in cash or a $25 gift card for the Ranch Store. Breeding sessions are open to the public and women from the audience may participate whenever breeding studs are available. NVCs are mainly acquired from luring unhappy teens to their ranch and forcing them to be turned into livestock, and this takes up over 88% of outside recruitment. They take in just over 3500 girls per year in this way. Some may argue this is illegal, but technically it is merely a morally grey zone, so at worst it's immoral. NVCs are bred and kept in a mostly vegetative state, and their offspring are either ground up into nutritional slop or kept to become cattle themselves. Thanks to gene therapy, their offspring grows up quickly and can be put to use in only two years (though their intelligence never develops, leaving them utterly dimwitted which luckily avoids a legal issue since they never develop a sense of self or personality or free will). After being thoroughly processed, the restraints are no longer necessary, and the obedient cattle is kept in inhumane conditions (as they are legally speaking no longer human beings).  All measures are taken to ensure that the NVCs never regain any part of their human self, and that their offspring too will be strickly cattle, with severely limited brainpower, and maximized milk production and meat buildup. Processed NVC offspring will never develop significant intelligence, their genetics restructured in the womb from conception to maximimize milk, meat and breeding potential, and will be full grown after only two years. From this second generation on, female cattle will also be able to carry calfs in not nine but only three months.  They are put to work as soon as they test postitive for stress-level lactation, and will never know what freedom is like. Which is no worry to them, after all, their restructured brain puts them somewhere beneath dogs and deer in the scale of intelligence. 85% of meat product from the ranch comes from the offspring of NVCs, which are subject to special (secret) processes to ensure maximum meat and optimal flavor, with zero signs of sentience in the product. Under local law, as they're not people, the Farm branch of the Happy Moo Ranch can do whatever they want to them, so they are bred to excellence and raised to perfection.
