Hailing from Egypt, Merikh was entombed in one of the ancient ruins. After awakening from a 2000 year slumber he finds that the kingdom he was once a part of has all but vanished completely. There were strange sights to behold and even stranger creatures now walking about, but in Merikh’s eyes he just saw it as an opportunity. A fresh, fertile land that was ripe for the taking and serving him as their new king. Sadly, his ambitions weren’t met with positive results. …After being humbled a bit, Merikh set his goals on training. If the world won’t bow to him through peaceful means (peaceful being used loosely here), then he’ll just have to use force. Being a kitsune using magic is usually second-nature, but Merikh struggled with it from dawn until dusk for several weeks. And through all that training he could finally make a small spark appear from his fingertips. Needless to say he was rusty. Not only that, but he was impaired as well. Only sporting one tail, Merikh was at a severe disadvantage next to his more magically adept nine-tailed kin. So he sought a more physical route of combat, and found his answer in the arts of kendo. However the mentality behind it wasn’t really to his liking, so he adapted the martial art into his own style by using two custom made bamboo swords and dual-wielding them.
personality
QUIRKS: Never wears any footwear...ever
LIKES: pastries, being obeyed, battle
DISLIKES: green things, being disobeyed, lazy people
Merikh is a rambunctious individual. Condescending, cocky, cunning, and careless. Believing that he is the last and true heir to the throne, Merikh does not hesitate to introduce himself with an elegant and grandiose title that is always changing and sounding less genuine with each retelling. You see, Merikh is the sixteenth child in the royal family, and as such he was often ignored or seen as lesser than his brothers and sisters. But now that they are no longer around, his ego has a chance to bloom far larger than his small stature (which is something he was teased about often). There are two things that aggravate Merikh more than anything else. His height and his tail (being a kitsune with only one tail is like being a painter with only one brush). So yes, he has a bit of a superiority complex, but can you blame him? He’s mischievous too. Pulling pranks, stealing, or even eating a few passerby (or as he likes to call them ‘commoners’) when the mood strikes is not beneath him. Since he is ‘king’ he can do whatever he likes, right? Right? Though as cheerful as his disposition usually is, Merikh also has a morbid curiosity with death. Often times he’ll philosophize or joke about death, but his stance on it is rather ambiguous.
skills (can be omitted upon request)
Merikh has been trained in the martial arts of kendo. Which is a Japanese form of fencing with two-handed bamboo swords. However, Merikh uses two bamboo swords and holds both in one hand. He also has a natural link and affinity to spirits and the spiritual realm.

{ Spirit Kendo }
Active: The swords themselves cannot hit things physically, instead they phase through objects and steal a bit of the energy and give it to the user.

{ Aakhu }
Passive: This ability allows him to summon out his spiritual self from his physical body. His spiritual self can become invisible at will. This spiritual form can move quicker and pass through objects. However, his physical body is completely vulnerable.
