Background

Some people really love nekos or other kemonomimi that they're willing to dress up as one. Fake animal ears, maybe a collar here or there, and for the truly dedicated, a strap-on tail. They pretend to meow or bark, show off their costumes to friends and family, and generally make everybody feel awkward.

And then there's the ones who take it a step too far. Take Catherine for instance. This girl grew up convinced she was born into the wrong body. Human things seemed weird and felt wrong to her; her ears were too dull, she lacked the balance she should have, and a phantom tail sensation haunted her with a distinct feeling of lack.

So what did she do about it? Well she took steps to correct her situation! When she turned sixteen Catherine underwent a radical augmentation procedure called Cybernetic Racial Realignment Surgery to change her body into something more feline. The results? Fantastic.

A-meow-zing hearing!
A pair of feline cyberears connected via a direct neural interface allow directional hearing far above and below the frequencies normally audible to humans, as well as at much lower volumes than most people can pick up on. Comes with built-in sound damper to prevent overloading.

Purr-fect balance!
In addition to inner ear augmentations, an artificial, fully articulated tail coordinates with a built in gyroscopic stability system to automatically adjust minute levels of positioning to ensure the utmost level of stability is maintained.

Superconducting metal pathways woven into the neural networks of the spine permit faster transmission of mental signals to the parts of the body, granting increased reaction time and coordination.

Jet-assisted flight! Yeah okay I'm out of cat puns.
Twin directional super-heated plasma vents provide the thrust and control necessary to provide vertical take off and landing, along with the ability to maintain altitude and orientation for extended aerial travel.
