Intentionally left out certain details, it free the Witches up for ALL sorts of ideas, with them being evil or the odd nice one. Note, the Witches are by default, not safe to be around or nice.
Maylis Witches, some times called unbirth witches, aren't as motherly as you'd expect them to be. They may appear nice on the outside, but they most certainly are not. They are very power hungry women, and most will do anything to get stronger. Not much is known about the witches beginnings, though there are rumors. And only the oldest Maylis know anything about it. And none of them talk about it to outsiders, though we speak of times LONG ago.
Maylis are obviously only females. The main things about this power hunger, they almost always are looking for it, and the main way the get it is through their womanly chamber. The Maylis get a grand portion of their power from the people and creatures trapped within the womb. They tap into their prisoners power and use it as their own. At first it was thought they could only unbirth one person, so they are simply choosing wisely as they could only take one in. This couldn't be farther from the truth. Their "womb space" is limitless. Maylis are born with magics able to basically let them unbirth anything and anyone, and as many as they want. Those trapped within a Maylis's womb are essentially batteries for the witch herself. They are born with the naturally ability to "hide" their "pregnancy" no matter the number trapped within as to not raise suspension. Then more they have when they are unbirthed, the more power the witch has. Escape from them womb of a Maylis Witch is nigh impossible, and only one case has ever been heard of, though this escape didn't last long. Once inside, only if the Maylis lets you out is the only time someone gets out of their womanly prison. In addition, the longer you are trapped within a Maylis Witch, as she uses her prey's power, it wears on the person's will. After a long enough time, the Maylis Witch gains full control of a person and their abilities.
When a Maylis unbirths someone they got into their own "cell". Think of a prison block, each person goes into their own cell, And a Maylis's womb has an infinite amount of cells. Via means unknown even to the Maylis themselves, those trapped within are tended to by the witch's body, for only alive things can give the witch their power. Maylis Witches carving for power has made them some what of a hunted group, Maylis only talk about their kind with other Maylis, a necessity to their survival.
Why is such necessity needed? Another reason they are hunted, the way one becomes a Maylis Witch. They aren't trained or chosen, they are born. And often a Maylis isn't the natural mother, the "sad" truth about a Maylis is their extremely low fertility, natural pregnancies are very rare, however the child will always be a Maylis Witch. Natural pregnancies are so rare, a Servant of the goddess will appear before the witch and "bless" the child, guaranteeing the child will become a Maylis witch. True pregnancies also cannot be hidden by their magic. This "Achilles' Heel" means their numbers are always low. When a Maylis is born, the birth sends a "shockwave" out that other Maylis feel. When a Maylis is born by a non-Maylis mother, a witch then makes her ways to the home, she unbirths everyone except the child. Mother, Father, siblings, visitors at the time.....everyone inside becomes the Maylis's new prisoners. Afterwards the Maylis raise the child as her own, the only time they are actually motherly. As the child grows she is taught her inborn magics, and some others their Mother Witch may possess. They are taught they when they are much much older, they are to become part of their goddess Unlena. Upon their coming of age, around 15-17 ish, the Mother Maylis releases a broken prisoner of herself to be the young Witch first prisoner. After pulling the prey within, they undergo a ritual to gain their goddess's favor.
This ritual involves both the young girl and the Mother Witch, and can have a cruel ending for the young woman. The Mother Witch watches over the ritual as the younger girl performs it. Firstly, the girl is to unbirth people over the course of a week. Their power and strength don't matter, just the number. Upon the end of the week, they don't do anything else for a month, letting the hunger grow within in them. After that they channel everything they have and force their power into a summoning circle. This calls a Servant of Unlena to the young witch, then the young girl pledges her very existence to the goddess Unlena. Then the servant lets the young witch unbirth them. After the servant is inside, they begin trying to escape to test the girl's power. This is painful for the young witch. Regardless if the servant gets out or not, the young witch lets out the servant so judgement may be passed. One of two things happens now. First the witch has passed her ordeal, and reaches the unholy blessing of Unlena. If she fails, the Servant unbirths the young witch and absorbs her, and then leaves. And when a Witch feels their end is near, they call the goddess in their unholy prayers. In which the goddess descends and claims the girl, Unlena then absorbs them. However on rare occasions, when a Witch is powerful enough, instead of taking everything, the goddess takes only a portion, and rebirths the witch with a new body and purpose. This purpose being to become a true servant of the goddess, and serve their unholy matron even after their end. Witches retain their memories after this change too.
The goddess they worship wasn't a goddess at birth, she was however the very first Maylis Witch. Long, long ago a girl caught a god's eye. He descended down to entertain the girl, eventually he courts the girl, her name was Unlena. The pair smitten with each other, live a number of years together. However a darker hunger within the girl festered, eating at her. One night they lay in bed together, and the god went to sleep. He'd never wake up. This "urge" drove the girl mad and she unbirthed the god. Her body absorbing his strength. This...hunger was finally sated, and the woman later gave into this hunger. The first Maylis Witch was born. Some time afterwords, the witch began to figure out she could use the god's powers. After a while she unbirthed a few more, learning about her new body and such. Eventually, a benevolent goddess came looking for the god she'd unbirthed. The woman panics at first, but the goddess wasn't going to force anything on the panicked woman. Later the goddess returns to Unlena, and this time the goddess is overwhelmed by the now power hungry witch. After a days fight, Unlena unbirths and seals away the goddess claiming her power. This amount of power within her mortal form shatters her body, Unlena would for a time, become removed from time and space. After a years time, Unlena slowly pulls herself into a stable form. Though after completely absorbing two divines, she herself had become one, Unlena was now a goddess herself. Unlena spreads her gifts and became worshiped by the witches that came after. Unlena enforces a number of rules upon her following. Firstly, everything a witch does is to grow the goddess's power, by increasing their own. Second, the Witchea are to look out for each other, their numbers are low enough, they need not be lower. If a Witch turns her back on her goddess, they are to be punished by being unbirthed themselves, whether by another Witch or a servant or herself, she cares not. Thirdly, knowledge of their existence is need to be to a minimum, for such would endanger the Witches en masse. Otherwise, the witches are allowed to grow in any way they wish until it comes time to be part of the goddess.
There are very limited known events caused by the Maylis Witches. But enough that those who know the truth, fear the name. One time a Maylis Witch managed to get herself hired as a maid to a royal family in their castle. Then one night, everyone in the castle vanished. The Royal family, their servants, and a few of the guards, it's a unsolved mystery. A more powerful Maylis Witch mind controlled an entire town. Then spent the next week having them all crawl up between her legs, this probably the most well known event to happen, thought not many know the truth. Those that do know the truth are hunted by the Maylis. Some witches have gotten married, though their partners......rarely had a choice in the matter, some mind controlled and other being aware of the Maylis's power. Fear or otherwise keeping them quiet about their wife.

RP Ideas:
Absorbed: A character is hunted/tricked/ambushed and is captured by a Witch. The victim is sucked up between her legs and absorbed, the witch stealing their powers. (Maybe their "daughter" gets them instead.)
Birth of a Witch: A witch feels the birth of a new Maylis. The Witch intrudes in the home of the newborn and unbirths all inside, taking the little one in as her own. What will the newborn grow up to? How will her ritual go?
Slave Father: (Males Only.) Somehow the witch partaking in bedroom activities gets pregnant! Happy days! Well for her, for dad not so much. The witch captures the father (a while after she figures out she's a mother) and kidnaps him. This is when she tells him the truth about her being one of the Witches. Now he has a choice......become an offering to her unholy goddess upon the child's birth, or, serve the Mother witch as a slave!
The Sacrifice: You've been captured by witches for some nefarious purpose. Was this punishment for seeing something you shouldn't have. OR maybe you just are unlucky. Either way, you end up and part of a ritual....whatever happens to you?~
