Maxwell is an Emotion Demon who was born from the emotion of joy. Being born, Maxwell wasn't like other Emotion Demons who made a fuss over what powers he would have, instead he only focused on more simpler things in life. Maxwell wanted to live a more simple and quiet life and settle down with a mate and start a happy and loving family. But unfortunately for him, upon discovering his power, he would find that his goal of living a normal life be virtually impossible, as almost every woman who would wish to be his mate didn't love him for him but loved him for his money. Growing frustrated with this, Maxwell had taken it upon himself to punish those who choose to show him affection only for his wealth and nothing more by either making them into slaves or devouring them as punishment for their greed.
