For most mother's, their son is their 'Special Little Guy' for the majority of their young life, wanting to coddle them with attention, worry about everything they get involved with whether it's school, hobbies or friends and ultimately shine pride over anything they do in life... a few mothers probably do this, anyway.
SOME, however, perhaps want to cling onto their son's for just a little -too- long and want to keep as involved as they possibly can. That's the case with Marlen, too. Sixteen years of age and in high school, despite his fondness for his independency and having his own interests, including video games, male modeling and (strangely enough) making his own cheesy nature videos, shares a household with a mother who's almost a little too fond of him, though whom he feels is just 'being herself' and wanting to show her love in her own preferred capacity. It's not that it's particularly bizarre, but perhaps may seem a little too 'involved' from the outside viewer, constantly insistent on doing his laundry, cleaning his room, cooking his meals, providing 5-star assistance to him whenever he's under the weather... she'd probably insist on tying his sneakers for him if he weren't somewhat more adamant about taking care of that himself (Not to mention it being something he's often not at home for her to attend to)
That all being said, Marlen isn't exactly helpless and it isn't as though he's grown up without knowledge of how to do... 'things', so to speak, that permit him his independency. He can cook fairly well, actually enjoys cleaning a little bit since it's his own way of 'being organized' and has grown with a fairly gentle-hearted outlook on life. One may argue that he's developed into a young man without the strongest backbone, however, sometimes finding it a little difficult to say 'No' to people, especially when it comes to girls and women. This has sometimes lead to situations where he's in a little too deep for his own good.
