The Knights of Silver, a name famous throughout the world, an elite group of highly skilled knights within the kingdom of Silvanesh, whose blades have cut down many a foe who dared threaten the kingdom. Skilled and daring, they've won countless battles and their legendary warriors have defeated many a terrible beast or villain for the good of all and the continued prosperity of the land. Yet, while they are clearly an elite group there is one specific feature that stands out among them...all Silver Knights are female. It is a requirement of the organization, they do not accept males into their ranks. While perhaps slightly unusual, one cannot argue that their heroines and tactics in battle or on solo quests have reaped great rewards and victories, and so people put up with that, with many young girls having dreams of joining them, if they don't have dreams of being a princess. However, regardless of what they dream, if they're female they have a shot...but males, alas must settle for the King's guard, or their local militia.

At least, all males but Marissa Balthamel, a young member of the Silver Knights, in fact she was only raised from squire just a few months ago, she is not quite what she claims, and appears, to be. Marissa Balthamel was in fact a young boy from a port city of Silvanesh, a great jewel of trade: Topan. He was the son of a minor noble, and was raised properly, although he wasn't as manly or big as the other boys, always having a more delicate, feminine appearance. He was skilled enough with a sword, but had little interest in other activities, taking more of a liking to dresses and a more feminine side to life. In fact, after a few years of failing to entice his son to more proper manly dress, his father actually just shrugged his shoulders and let the boy dress as a female, letting him become a her. For whatever reason, people forgot that it was a son, and just began referring to him as the lovely daughter of the nobleman. Thus, someone who had once been Christopher, became Marissa, and rumors abounded as to who Marissa was, although the most common belief was that she was a sister, and that Christopher was sickly and just locked away in bed all day. This was the story that Marissa herself began to endorse the most, especially as it made it all the easier, for her to convince her father to send her off to the Silver Knights.

He thought his son was mad of course, but well everyone in Topan thought he was a she, and he had never really been able to deny his child anything, even when it would have been rather disgraceful were it to be discovered. So, reluctantly he sent the boy off, thinking that the Silver Knights would discover the truth of it, and send the boy home humbled...but that didn't happen. Somehow or another Marissa managed to keep her secret, although she became known among the other girls and would be knights as rather shy and private, which was in and of itself no worry, she studied hard, and was friendly enough normally, she'd just never go swimming or go bathing with any of them, she was hardly the only one though and so they let it slide. She even graduated to becoming the personal squire of another of the knights, and held herself along so well that soon she was raised to proper knighthood herself! Admittedly only a new knight, basic and with no renown. Still her dream had come true, she was actually a Silver Knight!

Now, she hopes to one day become as legendary a heroine as the greats of this order, to give her all in protecting Silvanesh, and doing her utmost to keep her secret safe. However, such is not always the easiest of tasks. The Silver Knights are often the targets of many a prince or general, with an eye for the tougher or more unique fruit than the usual soft noblewoman, and what happens if someone discovers her secret...and what will she do to keep it a secret? Only time will tell.

RECENT EVENTS:

As of recently, Marissa took part in an exchange as part of Silvanesh allying with a distant kingdom. As part of that was a test, and Marissa passed, and became a Dragon Rider, complete with her own dragon, bonded to her. The dragon's name is Forti and so far, Marissa is quite enamored with her.

((Long story short, Marissa is a trap, a male who wishes to be female, dresses like a female, and acts like one. In addition she's part of an order of all female knights and needs to keep her secret safe lest she be kicked out for being male. I'm generally a switch, so ideas can range from some nobleman or woman blackmailing the poor girl for favors of all kinds of a devious nature, or even fawning over her even after finding out her secret. It can be in the midst of combat in an encounter with a monster girl or just plain monster, there's lots of ideas in a fantasy setting after all!))
