Mami Tomoe, is a magical girl, one of those girls who made a contract with a mysterious being called Kyubey. The contract allows the girl to have one single wish, any wish at all, granted, in exchange the girl gains great magical powers and a unique offensive ability, and must use this to fight off witches, depraved monsters that lure humans into magical labyrinths to feed on them, more often than not forcing them into acts of terrible suicide. Now, why must a girl given all these powers and abilities fight the witches? Even if they are genuinely good people, Kyubey must have some method to entice them other than payment for the wish? Well that is quite right, when you become a magical girl you gain a soul gem, which slowly darkens and grows dirty as magical power is used. When a witch is destroyed, a grief seed is usually dropped, and grief seeds can be used to purify the soul gem, usually two or three times per gem.

Of course, this incentive was not needed to get Mami to fight, she has taken up the mantle of heroine, of someone who protects the weak and helpless. she is a true magical girl who strives her hardest to defeat the witches so that they can not harm anyone! Although really part of the reason why she fights so hard is because...unlike other Magical Girls, who have the results of their wish to keep them happy and going...Mami...didn't really have a choice. Her parents died in a car crash, and she was badly injured, mortally so. There would have been no way for her to survive in time for help to arrive...and that was when Kyubey appeared. Really, when death is right there in front of you, the idea of having to fight constantly doesn't seem so bad if you just get to live...and so she made a contract, her wish simply...to survive. Thus she became a magical girl.

Mami lives alone, in her own little apartment, and attends high school like most girls, shortly after becoming a magical girl she met Kyouko, before the redhead's father went insane, and she even helped train her in the ways of the magical girl...but they drifted apart when the preacher snapped, leaving Mami alone again, alone with nothing but Kyubey for company. However, things have been stirring up in Mitakihara city, new magical girls have started appearing, namely Sayaka, and she hopes that Madoka may join her, and with new friends, her hope and passion to help and protect has been rekindled! Now, if she can just survive in this timeline...

Mami's power is the ability to summon up percussion lock, rifled muskets, several of them at a time. They tend to fire what appear to be small, yellow musket balls, that can be expended and used to extend trails of the golden ribbons she uses rather frequently. More often than not she'll use ribbons as a symbol of her magic, ribbons for barriers, seals, and bindings, and for truly powerful finishers, she can summon an especially large canon in an attack called the "Tiro Finale."

However, being a Magical Girl she does have more 'generic' magic such as improving her eyesight, conjuring barriers or other things...and other more...fun things. One of her favorite ways to dispose of enemies, troublesome people or the like, is through using her ribbons to transform them. What does she usually transform them into? Either clothing, such as stockings, panties, tights, bra, or dress, or food, such as cakes, pies, and other sweet treats, which she often then eats. However, she can consume people with more typical, wholesome and untransformed methods...the food is simply her own personal preference.
