Malak

Malak is a fairly reasonably sized dragon of his age, gender and species. Sure enough there are dragons out there that could make short work of him; but he's not a pushover as one would imagine. His muscular density is many times that of a human. While bite-strength has been sacrificed to no small degree for brain size and ability, he's by no means a smart reptile either.

His Species - a type of "Freshwater Dragon" - named soley on the location of their discovery was a marsh, where they evolved their particular head flaps, is one of the identifable aspects of their character. Not to mention the spines that run along their back and have no other function than to make it difficult to eat them without tearing up your insides. This can often be difficult to ride, since the spines typically follow the spine from nape of the neck to the rump-base of the tail - but riders often 'trim' spikes from the location the rider would sit or sometimes more than that. An operation that has no far-reaching effects and benefits the comfort and safety of rider and dragon, like clipping nails on human fingers, only if you used a hacksaw.

His kind often range from twenty to thirty feet from muzzle to tailtip, their body encompassing no more than a third of their overall size, which makes eating large meals the size of a person more effort than it's worth. Not to say they cannot, but the elasticated throat and skin means they tend to burn almost as much energy getting a meal into place before it benefits them. Not to mention heavy meals can hamper flight.

Wingspan tends to double that of bodylength, to 'force' an otherwise heavy-duty body into the air. While they fly, they are not magnificant by any stretch and do so at great cost of energy - which means they need alot of food to sustain flight for prolonged periods.

Malak's kind is one of the many dragon species that have a unspoken contract with Dragon Riders, offering various males and females up for 'adoption' as a fairly respectable role. Admittedly, some dragons don't look at this as what it is; a partnership of mutal agreement and insted believe the dragons under care of riders are brainwashed or lead to believe they are anything but working animals.

As for Malak himself. Well. He's a rather unremarkable example of his kind and displays social status of something that is reasonably high-tier if not a kind of alpha-status amongst his peers. This not only makes him dominant, but also makes him more laid back than lower members who constantly shuffle and fight for upper roles.

Now for the bit you no doubt skipped to:

Malak's mouth is capable of engulfing anything around the size of a horse, which may not be ideal for swallowing but is not unheard of rumours that dragons this size have eaten a horse and its rider whole. This of course would not only be difficult but likely had given the rider plenty of time to escape the dragons reach while it was working on the horse or vise versa. Frankly, swallowing anything larger than a reasonably small human (a child, for example) is alot of work, due to the throat-girth he has. Eating a human would almost double his natural girth and swallowing a horse would be a near-impossible four-times his natural thickness (as prooven by the picture - his neck is rather narrow).

Due to the reptillian stretchiness of their skin, it is fairly possible, if uncomfortable. Typically Riders are keen to ensure their dragons don't bite off more than they can chew and keep to bite-sized offcuts of animal rather than giving them whole.

His body is only a few times larger than his human rider, so while he can fit a horse and rider at a stretch - it'd be just that, his stomach would be unreasonably distended with no way to eject his meal in an emergency. Meaning he'd be trapped whereever his found his prey. But by no means immobile. A human, on the other hand would be more than filling for an average meal-size. Thankfully due to the nature of their stretchy and suprisingly thin (but tough) skin, it can be a comfortable place to be. Warm, quiet (other than a large heart above you) and intimate. There are stories of dragons keeping their young in their stomach and eating food to feed them, turning off their digestive system for prolonged periods.

Last but not, his penis is a respectable girth and length, shaped like a tail in of itself and is completely concealed within an internal slit and retractable during arrousal. Of course, being arroused in combat is something to avoid and must be seen to! There's measures a rider can take, such as mating their dragon frequently or if unable to do that, they can find other riders who want to mate their dragons. Some riders prefer a more natural method of having their males and females wear protective 'cups' and allowing their dragon to mate on its own terms.
