Mami is one of the many who have made a contract with the mysterious being, "Kyubey", and become a Magical Girl to fight against witches. She is a ninth-grader in Mitakihara Middle School. She tends to be a big sister or motherly type. She has strong ties to her friends, especially since she lives alone due to her parents dying in a car accident, of which she was the only survivor. This was because at that moment, Kyubey appeared, and she wished to simply survive. She enjoys tea, cake, and tea parties. She can be rather lonely at times, and tries to appear to be mature despite her being uncertain of herself. As a magical girl, she has access to a large amount of rifles, which is her main weapon, as well as being able to summon magical ribbons to bind opponents. Her signature move is the "Tiro Finale", in which she summons a giant gun that fires a huge beam to obliterate the enemy.

In one timeline, she has a special affinity with the being known as "Bebe".
