Maddie was born and raised in a picturesque suburban neighborhood in the American south. Her childhood was spent walking under the shade of pine trees, searching for hellbenders in untouched streams amidst the Blue Ridge Mountains, walking along oystershell paths as civil war reenactments raged.

She hated every second of it. Maddie disdained the muddy, dirty outside, too hot and too cold and always full of leaves. A disagreeable sourpuss at school, she eschewed a healthy social life for isolation in her blind-darkened room. There she spent her time binging TV, reading, and drowning in social media. For a time she was heavily into dollhouses, until the principal caught her slipping her classmates shrinking pills and taking them home. A year of behavioral therapy followed; Maddie learned nothing other than how not to be caught.

As soon as she was old enough Maddie left for the big city, determined to get a computer science degree and never go outside again. Finding many lovers, some snacks, and few friends, Maddie was happy for a time until a jilted ex leaked a video of her previous breakup. While the footage was too dark and low-quality to prove that the woman clinging to the ring at the back of Maddie’s gullet was anything more than a doll, or the screaming and begging more than audio added in post, university staff discretely informed Maddie that she was no longer welcome on campus.

Since then, Maddie has drifted from job to job. Resentful of her failing at college and jealous of everyone else’s healthy social life, she remains too lazy to go to the effort of actually building and maintaining friendships. Bartending has been the best of them – it’s no trouble to slip shrinking agents into drinks when you’re the ones making them, and between the alcohol and the loud music it’s easy to smuggle belligerent or late-staying patrons out in her underwear. Full sized meals are as simple as inviting someone back to her car at the end of a shift.

The huge majority of those who emerge from her panties or car into the sparse, off-green apartment she spends an unhealthy amount of time in never see the sun again. Having failed in the major aspects of her life, Maddie takes a twisted joy in the control she has over those of others – and the terror they display when she brings things to an end. She might promise freedom if they can beat her at a game or otherwise dangle salvation just out of reach, but the only thing waiting for her “guests” is an agonizingly slow end in her rancid guts. Even after death the humiliation continues – Maddie tallies her victims, collects obituaries, and trophies clothing and accessories as mementos of her gruesome conquests. She has a particular fondness for jewelry, piercing her asshole with victims’ wedding rings and stealing piercings after they’ve been digested out of the skin and burped up.
