Lydia’s childhood was nothing short of awful. From the day she was born she was going to be hunted because of what she was. Lydia is known as a watcher. An elite group of people that have gone extinct over the years, now only a few remain, and Lydia is one of them. To put it simply watchers can altar time to their will, they can bend reality and even go back and rewrite the past.
As soon as Lydia’s powers became known she was sent away from her family and her friends, all this when she was only ten years old. She was stripped away from her old life and was sent to an orphange. At this orphange she would find herself surrounded by other childern, though she didn’t know at the time, these childern were just like her, they were watchers. The reason Lydia was here was for one simple reason. To see if she had the potential to become a powerful watcher and use her powers in combat. If she did she would be shipped off and used as a weapon in the military.
After only six months of this Lydia couldn’t take it anymore, she couldn’t take how she was treated and how the others were treated, compassion did not exist in a place like this, so she did what she thought was right, she ran. And even to this day Lydia is more than sure she is being hunted, but they are no threat to her anymore, with the power she now has, she can obledirate anything in her path.
Now for Lydia to access her powers she needs that scythe she holds in her hand. A weapon is given to every watcher, one that allows them to access and use their powers. Without she can’t bend reality or jump through time. Though at the same time someone else can’t use her scythe either. If she was stripped of her weapon she wouldn’t be as powerful, but at the same time the one who stole it would not gain her powers either.
As Lydia ran her life she came across a manor and found herself lost in a field, sitting in the corner, crying. There the head of the house found her. Lydia simply thought the head of the home was going to simply turn her in and cast her off, but to her surprise they didn’t. They let her stay with them, the entire time they knew what she was but decided to house Lydia instead keeping her safe. (I am aware this is going to sound confusing, but if you would like to play the role of the one who took Lydia in just let me know and I am sure we can work something out.)
Living at her new home Lydia found peace here. She could train in peace here and learn how to control the power that was given to her. All the time she would stay loyal to the one who took her in, and she would do anything for him, even if that meant sacrificing her own life.
