Lya Veiler, Ex-cultist and hopeful squire(center this later)

The Veiler family is known in the underground for their dark arts and experimentation in fleshcrafting and fleshgrowing. Each generation Veiler has served an evil cult in their lifetime, researching dark arts and growing masses of pulsating flesh for experiments. Lya is an accidental product of a Veiler experimenting with his own reproductive cells. Lya never knew who her mother was, probably one of the girls used in some twisted experiment, and her father eventually went mad and turned himself into a mindless flesh golem, leaving Lya to continue the Veiler line. The name would still survive, as the Veiler's sometimes crafted their next of kin artificially, meaning Lya is likely at least part artificial human, although her father was mostly human and her mother was probably human, and she was born...Somewhat naturally.

Lya continued the work of her family for a bit, working with a cult that aimed to bring down the holy temples of the land. The cult was destroyed by a group of paladins one day, forcing Lya to escape. Over the course of the next few months Lya was pursued by the party of paladins. She managed to remain one step ahead of them the entire time, but she discovered this was because the paladins often stopped to help the less fortunate they came across. She started spying on them, eventually coming to admire their dedication.

Now Lya has become a squire, or at least would like to be one. Technically still on the run, she searches for a knight or paladin to train under anyway. Discarding the evil way of life, she finds a more light approach to life to be more challenging and fulfilling. She spent a lot of her savings on a holy sword, despite having no skills beyond her dark cultist spells and flesh alchemy. She also stole a paladin's holy symbol and wears it around her neck like a necklace, she's a bit in trouble for that as well.






































Abilities

-Reformation

Lya can't reform and can only be reformed under specific conditions. When Lya dies she becomes a ghost because of the darkness attached to her soul. She can return to life if she has a free body she can inhabit. As a flesh crafter, Lya has a few spare replicas of her body hidden away, although they're a bit difficult to make. Someone can revive Lya if they have the power to reconstruct Lya's body.

-Cultivate mass

Lya can cultivate a mass of flesh which serves as her material for her flesh alchemy. The veiny flesh mass grows slowly over time like a plant or fungus. She usually keeps it safe in her lab. This is a basic necessity for any flesh crafter. Victims can be added to the mass, but Lya prefers to let it grow without sacrificing other people.
Mass of flesh available: 129 units

-Craft duplicate (costs: 800 units)

Lya can take a mass of flesh and craft it into a perfect duplicate of her own body. She tends to store these in safe places. They are specially enchanted to easily take in souls, so Lya's can enter if she ever loses her body. She can also take control of one of the duplicates while remaining in her own body if she wants. Other people can also have their souls leave their body and enter into one of Lya's duplicates if they will it.

Lya can make anything minor out of flesh if she wants. Results can vary but they tend to be a bit creepy, like flesh popsicles, flesh hats, flesh tools, flesh holy symbols.




Dark arts

Lya knows a few dark and some inherently evil spells she learned from researching for the cults, but she doesn't use them much anymore because of her new direction in life. These spells are dark arts that can be cast borrowing stored power from the lunar rays. A spell can be cast once each time Lya prays to a visible moon, twice when she has a sacrifice. She never prays to the moon anymore, nor does she give sacrifices to the dark gods, so she generally never replenishes her uses. Some dark arts are simply modifications or curses from rituals, and are always on.

-Tendrils of the corroded soul

These shadowy tendrils sprout from the ground and caress through a target's body, eating away at their soul.

-Desirous devourer of the temptress

A giant venus flytrap-like maw made of black tendrils pops out of the ground around Lya. A fog fills the area that amplifies the arousal of anyone looking in the direction of Lya. The spell works on a person's arousal, so if the person is not already aroused the spell won't work very well, whereas someone already heavily aroused will find it very difficult to resist walking over to Lya. Lya and her target are consumed together and the victim's life essence is drained away, Lya is perfectly safe though.

-Gluttonous maw of dimensions

The form varies, but the hungrier the target is, the more fearsome and powerful the summoned shadow creature is. The creature eats the target, sending it down into its belly where a warp portal is waiting, sending those it eats to some other random dimension.

-Ritual of the blackened soul

Lya's soul is permanently melded with darkness. The darkness is simply darkness, and not innately evil. The darkness cannot be destroyed, and allows Lya to haunt as a ghost if she dies. It may have other unknown effects.

-Ritual of the succubus

Lya's body radiates slightly more attractively, and it also allows her to be attracted to other species and races. Her body has some succubus properties, but nothing like special abilities or immunities, they generally just help her seduction magic work if she uses it or makes her more compatible.


Diary and lab notes

Lya records notable happenings and her research, as well as her progress in her quest of becoming a knight, paladin, or dark knight. As with anyone keeping a diary, she may neglect to actually use the thing no matter how important the event is.
