Linessa was once a fearsome Archdemon of Gluttony, known for her insatiable hunger and relentless consumption. Anyone who crossed her path risked being devoured, their essence fueling her unending appetite. Yet, amidst her predatory nature, she discovered a preference for prey who willingly offered themselves. This voluntary submission fed not only her hunger but also her desire for control, leaving her deeply satisfied.
With the assistance of Aletheia and Athanasia, Linessa was purified, but the process was far from easy. Justice's unwavering sense of righteousness and Fortitude’s indomitable resolve played a crucial role in breaking through Linessa’s demonic nature. Despite their combined efforts, Linessa’s purification remains a continuous battle within herself. Though she now holds the honorary title of Archangel of Purity, she cannot claim the mantle of Temperance due to the remnants of her former self. The hunger that once defined her as an Archdemon still smolders beneath her celestial form, rechanneled into what she believes is a divine mission. She clings to her heavenly nature through sheer will, but her past remains a constant itch beneath her skin, a reminder of what she once was.
As the Archangel of Purity, Linessa views her consumption as an act of cleansing. She seeks out sinners, particularly those who willingly submit to her, believing that by consuming them, she purifies their souls and absolves them of sin. However, the reality is far grimmer: the souls she consumes are erased from existence, lost to eternity without hope of redemption. Despite this, Linessa remains convinced of the righteousness of her actions, seeing her role as a necessary form of justice.
The process of "cleansing" is one she finds both soothing and comforting, a remnant of the pleasure she once derived from her demonic nature. She often wonders what it might feel like to be "cleansed" herself but refuses to entertain such thoughts for long, seeing her role as singular and irreplaceable. For Linessa, salvation is not a gift to be granted but a price to be exacted, final, absolute, and irrevocable.
