Lillandra is a young Gryphon, having mostly white feathers and fur which is markedly different from her parents, who had a more typical brown colouring. She grew up high in the mountains, and as a result, she's quite adapted to cooler climates and lower levels of oxygen. She originally had three siblings though only one survived with her. There was a rich valley below the mountain was full of prey for her and her family to hunt.
Her wingspan is a good 50 feet, and her neck is 2 feet long body and about as wide. Her torso is about 12 feet long and 5 feet wide, being rather well muscled. Her tail is prehensile, about 25 feet long and able to coil around prey as well, holding it still until she's ready to devour it. However, she needs it for flying, so she can't fly with someone coiled up. Her beak is about 8 inches long, very sharp at the tip, and able to open far wider than one would expect. She's fully capable of swallowing a full sized human down without having to rip them apart. Her front legs have claws, three on one side with an opposing one on the other. They are quite sharp, easily able to cut flesh, though not bone if she squeezes them and about 10 inches long when fully extended. Her hind legs are that of a lion, each with five toes, and again having claws, though only extending about 5 inches. If necessary, she can even fly upside down. Her eyesight is incredible, able to see for miles away with total clarity. She weighs about 1000lbs, having lighter bones. She can fly with more than double her weight though, either inside her or on her back or a combination of the two, though her speed and maneuverability is cut more by more than half.
Her father was eaten whole by a dragon when she was just five, pretty much right in front of her eyes. She had managed to hide away from the dragon, but never forgot the sight of him being swallowed alive. Consequently, she set out to become the best predator she could, practicing as much and as often as she could. As a result, by the time she was eight, she had outgrown her mother, and a year after that, she surpassed her father in size as well. Now that she's somewhat older, she's decided to explore further away from home, to try and see more of the world for herself. And of course feed, for she wants to grow big and strong enough to hunt down and rip apart the dragon that ate her father. Her two lost siblings, a brother and a sister were lost to unknown causes, never returning, though in both cases some of their feathers were found.
As a result of her childhood memory, she tends to have an intense dislike of dragons and an initial dislike of other scaly creatures. One of her favourite foods though is snake creatures. She can swoop down on them while they are in the open, grab and hold them, and then swallow them down whole, working them fully into her stomach. Though pretty much any creature that she can fit into her mouth whole is good, and the ones that she can't fit in, she can rip and tear into swallow-able sized pieces.
Her favourite pastime is soaring through the air, high about the ground, searching for prey. She can dive at incredible speeds, braking at the last possible moment and ensnare prey with her front claws up to about horse sized, and then leap and lift off into the air to fly away and devour her meal whole (preferable) or in pieces as necessary. For troublesome prey, a tactic that she uses is to snatch them and then drop them from a high distance onto rocks, gliding down and swallowing up their mangled and broken bodies.
When she's not hunting, she can be approached and may even be friendly, though few ever seem to try to engage her. She can speak, though it's a bit difficult to understand some of her words, as her vocal cords aren't 100% human. She can screech outside of the range of normal human hearing, and if they stay in range of her while doing so, they can suffer damage to their ears.
