Leora

Oh Elves... Such a majestic race full of promise and grace from a time where magic ruled the land... The bearers of wisdom and understanding that most of the younger races couldn't hope to achieve in their lifespans. Combined with natural beauty and long lives, such qualities were always destined to make Elves and their empires spread across the globe many things. Rich, powerful, and... Targets.

Such was Leora's fate when she was still quite young, her title as heiress to a middle-sized kingdom of obscenely wealthy Elves that dwelled near a nearly endless expanse of precious jewels made her often the target of both jealousy and ire. At the time Leora was kind, gentle, and spent her days spreading what wealth she could with her people. Despite her parents saying otherwise and having a hint of Dwarven greed to them, Leora was a giving soul. That all changed on a fateful night when a particular Demon swept into her room while she slept. Leora had unwittingly lured the mischievous Demon to her when her curiosity got the better of her. Leora began to look into the fobidden areas of the library. Finding a particular book about Demons and magic, Leora felt as if the face of the book warmed her fingers and filled her with a sense of wonder she had yet to experience in life. From then on the Elf was both apprehensive and curious of the darker sides of life. The pristine and pure core of the Elven princess quivered under this new knowledge, and it was later that night where things took an even more dangerous turn.

Silent as the night that bore her, Avarizia slipped into Leora's room and changed Leora's life forever. Guards never heard a sound as the Demon took the young Elf for her own in every different way. Try as she might Leora came to a disturbing revelation; By the time Avarizia was done with her the Elf didn't want her to leave. Some historians over the years chalk up Leora's reaction to youth, or a perverse example of stockholm syndrome. Some have even ventured to guess it was the first time Leora had ever laid with anyone and the bond was entirely natural! Regardless, that night changed Leora's future forever, tainting it with Avarizia's influence as the Elf asked the Demon to return many times over the next few months! The more Leora had of Avarizia, the more she needed the Demon around and the more she craved her affections.

And so it went for quite some time as Leora's temptations grew darker and her outlook on the world far more selfserving. Leora stopped giving away her wealth by Avarizia's recommendation, beginning to hoard more of it for the two of them. Her hair changed from bright blonde to a dark red over the next year, and her peach colored skin began to change with her... There even was a time where Avarizia's advance into Leora's chambers did not go unnoticed by a certain chambermaid who then vanished without a trace. While the chambermaid had always been loved by all, dutiful and kind, Leora showed little compassion in dismissing the idea that anything vile had happened to the fellow Elf. "Perhaps she had just chosed to move on, to a brighter future? I know she had been saving her money..." Leora offered, and the ruling court seemed to agree. Meanwhile she enjoyed an internal smile when she remembers all the things she'd watched Avarizia do to the hapless Elf. That was the first time Leora felt the thrill of watching Avarizia work. That perverse desire only grew as time passed and Leora found herself hopelessly turned on by the sight each time. With her parents aging and moving into their final years, Leora was starting to have ideas... It was time for a new ruler, and a new and more profitable future for what Leora considered already as her people.

When that day finally came Leora was all too eager to ascend to her throne, and to much outrage and confusion of her people... Leora openly chose Avarizia as her mate. The civil unrest that followed lasted for nearly a year as the populace struggled to accept how such a noble line could have fallen in with Demonkind... But with all the income and the strength of well-funded and equipped armies at her back, Leora patiently disposed of dissenters that questioned her, and by proxy Avarizia's rule. The once gleaming white towers started to carry the shadows of dark clouds, the marbled stone hiding the darkness that dwelled within to the outside world and by the end of that year Avarizia's control was complete. The hooks could never be unlatched from Leora's soul, and the Elf reveled in giving herself to the Demon. The one thing that continued to flow along with Leora's love for her now tainted people was the precious gems from the mines that was now operated by slaves of the rebellions she had quelled during her new reign. As with any ruler through history Leora began to look outward, seeking to bring in new riches and wealth for her people and her lover, expanding her borders with a sort of kind-hearted ruthlessness that was a perfect mix of Leora's warm nature and Avarizia's neverending quest for a swelling hoard. The pair's debauchery was now open and shameless as well. The two never seemed too caught up on the notion that people shouldn't know they fuck like rabbits, and the tales of debauchery that come from the royal palace servants were as endless as they were outlandish.

The parties, the 'friends' that come with Avarizia, the prostitutes (Elf and Infernal alike) that earn a year's wage for one night's work...? And even darker rumors that some of those prostitutes that get greedy, servants that spoke out against such displays, or just happen to strike a fancy in the wrong predator...? One could not be faulted for thinking they were mad, the tellers of those tales. After all, who could believe that someone could be devoured whole, body or soul alike?! Even worse, it seems that Leora's baby clock continues to tick to this very day and the Elf has been noted saying she is all too willing to carry Avarizia's children, should they become lucky enough to have any!

Years have rolled on and the kingdom has been flourishing into a proper nation ever since, even as technology and time roll on with equal measure. The Two Queens, as they have been affectionately named over the years, have matured with their kingdom. Despite their darker influences across the world as they know it no one can deny the effectiveness of their rule or the raw economic powerhouse their kingdom has become. Many nations begrudgingly trade with them despite their reputations or soliciit their support in various wars... It was increasingly rare for the two to deign to become involved in such trivial pursuits given that Avarizia and Leora view them as 'unnecessary expenses' however. The expection being when they were promised large swaths of land to expand their ever-growing influence. With their vast financial wealth the Queens have continued delving into the market of the future and lead the world on the edge. Such pursuits have yielded them even more of that coveted money they had become enamored with, and so their names were often associated with various tech groups and companies.
