Lemnellis
Many seek immortality in the course of their lives. Mortals have always been afraid of dying, though, so this isn't any great surprise, is it? The uncertainty of what comes after drives many to great lengths in seeking to escape their fate. Not all who try succeed... far from it, really. However, not all who become immortal were trying for it at all, or even want it.
It is said that some legends become immortal. The best stories are never forgotten, even if the faces of the characters in them change, as well as their names. Archetypes could be called the original legends, after a fashion. Still, becoming a legend has some interesting consequences for a mortal. And, well, over many, many years, some details may be lost, even as the legend grows, new stories of new adventures being told by storytellers who want to use the legend to frame a tale of their own devising. This legend, though, became a legend on its own, by virtue of the exploits of its principle character.
Born to poverty, they became a soldier. As a soldier, they advanced in rank, becoming a commander. As a commander, they fought a long, bloody war, and eventually became an assassin. As an assassin, they killed a great many men, earning infamy. Once infamous, they ended a war by killing the tyrant who had controlled them, for all of their life. From there, they disappeared, and much has been lost over time. Only a few details remain...
But really, that's the way all legends work. No matter how much time has passed, SOME details remain the same. In this case, in particular, the legend's name has not been forgotten. Lemnellis.
What it means to BE a legend, though, is hard to explain. Yes, people remember you... but that makes things awkward. As a legend, Lemnellis became immortal, with a few strings attached that make things extra-awkward.
As it happens, becoming a legend is very like becoming a god. People WANT to believe in you, but they believe in what you were. Their beliefs can also affect you in other ways, as well. Where a god gains or loses power based on the number of true believers he or she has, a legend is shaped by his or her believers. THAT is what makes things so damned complicated.
Lemnellis, as a result of this, can count on a few things: First, he may not always be a he, or she may not always be a she. His/her original gender has been lost to time, and frankly he/she isn't sure him/herself anymore. One day he may go to bed as a man, and wake up as a woman in the middle of the night, or vice versa. Sometimes he/she will wake up somewhere in between, which is even MORE awkward! But that's something he/she has gotten used to, by this point. Mind, sometimes the change happens at other times... there's no predicting it!
However, one thing he/she CAN count on his his/her skill. THAT, at least, remains unchanged. Regardless of where he/she is, and what he/she is doing, he/she will ALWAYS be a very competent fighter, with hundreds, if not thousands, of years of experience. He/she cannot use magic at all, not even minor spells to, say, start a fire, but that's lead to greater ingenuity on his/her part in learning to do things differently. And, well, experience counts for a lot. Combined with his/her legendary status, and willpower, this means he/she is less affected by magical attacks and spells, and any magical changes, positive or negative, degrade over time.
However, and most important of all... being a legend means being immortal. He/she CANNOT die, permanently, and will live as long as he/she is remembered. Considering how long some of our legends have lasted, this may well mean that he/she will NEVER die.
In the meantime, though, Lemnellis is a simple sort. A wanderer, simply because it is convenient, he/she is a storyteller, going by Lem or Ellis depending on his/her present gender(which seems to stabilize around people, for a while at least). He/she tells old, forgotten stories, sometimes about him/herself, and will often take care of relatively minor problems... small monster nests, and the like, in particular. Who he/she actually IS doesn't really come up much, and frankly, he/she prefers not having to deal with all that doubt. It makes life SO much simpler.
OOC notes: You can tell which gender you're dealing with based on text color. Blue is male, pinkish is female. Simple, right?
Lemnellis can actually wind up anywhere, with a little tweaking. Settings aren't an obstacle, though some may take more work to get into.
Lemnellis is NOT invincible. He/she just regenerates from any harm, and I do mean ANY. This can make for some interesting RPs.
Lemnellis IS vore-capable, sometimes. However, story is something I prefer.
Supernatural and otherwise especially sensitive entities can pick up on Lemnellis' oddities, and may well know him/her.
Also, this character is VERY much a test, and pretty awkward to write, so I hope none of you are discouraged by that.
Sliders? Pfft. No need. I'm fine with all vore types, I prefer not to deal with scat or watersports(clean AV, thankyou), I mostly RP in PMs but don't mind RPing in public, and please, please don't send me an IC PM. Anything else? Just ask.
