Leander_Ravenswood

The truth is that Leander is a magical being, one of the fae specifically. He’s a collector of sorts, gathering interesting flora and fauna as well as magical trinkets to keep them at his home.

He doesn’t just collect normal creatures and plants, of course. He also collects people, from humans to monsterfolk and anything in-between. Who he collects seems largely based on random whims; he’ll often snatch up whoever he finds attractive at the moment. Those he wishes to collect are taken to his estate; some are released once he’s done toying with them, but marked with an invisible magical ‘brand’ which allows him to find them later. Others, usually those who consent, are allowed to live at the estate, servants to Leander’s whims. They eventually are given the ability to come and go as they please, but he can always summon them back.

Beneath his polite public exterior, Leander is a hedonist, and his home reflects that. All sorts of strange, exotic and often impossible pleasures await....although to those he takes unwillingly, many may be considered horrors as well.


Being part of his collection isn’t necessarily permanent; some can earn their freedom in some challenge on his estate, and some can just get it by asking if he’s in the right mood.

His current collection:

Both his vast estate and the forest surrounding it bear the name ‘Ravenswood’. They are on a separate plane of existence, and none can access it without Leander allowing it.

His home itself, the centerpiece of the estate, is a large, imposing manor of indeterminate style. In addition to Leander, a few members of his ‘collection’ live there, as well as Leander’s servants.

These servants are slender, pale-skinned humanoids, with pointed, elf-like ears and hair that appears to be made of strands of actual silver. They are completely silent, but can apparently somehow relay information to Leander should the need arise. There aren’t as many as one might expect in an estate like Leander’s, but they get the job done.

Also on the grounds are a botanical garden, stables and kennels. The garden consists primarily of an enormous greenhouse, surrounded by outdoor plots containing plants more tolerant of the temperate climate. Inside is a tropical climate, containing exotic flowers and small trees and the like...and more than a few even more exotic, and dangerous, plants.

The stables house a small team of horses; all mares, save for Leander’s personal mount, a large, storm-gray stallion named Arion.

The kennels house a pack of a half dozen dogs. Most are hounds of an indeterminate breed, all fairly large, but the biggest are a pair of positively enormous male mastiffs; a black-coated one named Shuck, and a brindle-patterned one named Garm. These two also seem to be more intelligent than even the smartest of ‘normal’ dogs.


Then, there’s the Ravenswood itself. It’s a seemingly-endless temperate forest, split by a river that feeds into a large lake that forms the Eastern border of Leander’s estate. It’s hardly as typical as it might first appear, though; it’s home to many wild creatures, from normal-appearing wildlife to wild fae and monsterfolk. Get lost in the beauty of the woods or flee through it at your own risk!

All the dangers of the estate, though, are only temporary. Anyone who dies in Leander’s realm is resurrected, usually within 24 hours...unless Leander thinks they need to be punished. In that case, people will stay dead (often as ghosts haunting his manor, or souls trapped in trinkets) until Leander decides to revive them. Those are rare cases, however!

Ideas I’ve had for the setting. I may or may not be in the mood for these; I just want to keep ‘em written down.

- The Hunt- : Leander offers some of his collection some of his collection the chance to participate in a hunt through the Ravenswood...as the game. Whoever reaches a certain giant, gnarled old oak, evades capture until the time limit is over, or is the last one standing is given a prize of some variety; a magical boon, a valuable trinket, whatever. Leander uses no actual weapons, but his hounds and his stallion are often more than enough. (Would contain: non-anthro pred vore, male pred vore, possible bestiality)
