Appearance: Maylene appears as a slightly taller than average teenage woman with mid-back length pink hair, pink eyes, a 30 C bust, and a lithe, moderately muscular frame for her age anyways. Her usual attire consists of a skin tight blue latex shirt, white sweat pants, blue fingerless gloves, and she doesn't wear any shoes, walking around barefoot everywhere she goes.
Personality: Maylene is shy and she is easily insulted, to an extent, of course. Because she was thrust into the world of Gym battling so quickly, she didn't have prior time to adjust and she lost horribly in some of her matches cause she wasn't focused or prepared enough, and therefore, her Pokemon were not able to perform at their best. She is also a shy and sometimes unwilling pred, but her Lucario is the most predatory out of her Pokemon, even more predatory than herself.
Background/History: Maylene was born in Veilstone City and has lived her whole life in this large city. But, she didn't have any parents, instead being raised by friends of her parents, and quite well, may I add. She was trained in the dojo by those friends in martial arts and is quite an adept fighter in the present day.
Her first Pokemon was a Riolu she found when she was 8. It was huddled in the kitchen of her house, scared and hungry. Maylene helped her and an unbreakable friendship was formed that day. A few years later, after much training with Riolu, its happiness was high enough that she evolved into Lucario. Maylene admired her new Lucario and found out she could speak telepathically with Lucario because of her Aura. She doesn't always do this, but she knows Lucario will answer her with telepathic responses.
When she was 15, she was thrust into the world of Gym Battles, as the dojo had decided she be the Veilstone Gym Leader, and she didn't want to do this at all, cause it was all so sudden and she didn't prepare one bit for this, ever, as she thought it would never ever happen.
After denying the Gym Leader position, but forced into it anyway, Lucario's attitude drastically changed, becoming much more tougher and non-emotional, training Maylene hard for being a Gym Leader. They were still friends, but Lucario wanted Maylene strong for her, so she acted tougher and crueler in order to achieve this. It wasn't till Ash defeated her in battle did she truly understand that she was meant to be the Gym Leader, and would do her best to be the Leader, no matter what.
