Filled with a desire to explore the world around her, Laurel is out simply to meet new people, experience new things, and above all else, have a good time doing it. Given that she's mainly dealt with angels, devils, and more otherworldly beings that she always just banished back to their homes, she finds manipulating people of this world to be all too easy, and gives little thought to the consequences. Emotions are easily toyed with, appetites catered to, promises can be made and broken... and as long as she comes out better from the interaction, then Laurel is quite alright with simply discarding whatever pieces remain.
Abilities and powers
Summoning and Binding: Laurel has a talent for wrenching beings from other planes into this world, and is able to bind them in circles even as simple as a ring of salt, or a runed ring etched in the dirt. Of course, her home has a quality circle made of silver and studded with gems, with arcane symbols of diamond dust fused to the stone around.
Transformation Magic: Laurel is able to alter the bodies and minds of others, if she's able to touch them and concentrate for an extended period of time, usually about a minute. She can't change the species of anyone, but she can alter their anatomy slightly or remove memories, or even bring about a few emotions that lurk beneath the surface of their conscious minds.
Herb lore: Plants were one of Laurel's passions, and she makes an effort to know the potential effects of all the flowers, roots and leaves in the surrounding area and whether it takes brewing, drying, or pulping to get the desired outcome.
Background
Laurel was born to a talented witch kitsune living in an isolated tower in the woods. Raised alone with her mother, Laurel grew up without much contact with the outside world, being confined to her home as well as the surrounding gardens. During her childhood, she was taught the fundamentals of magic, alchemy, and herb lore but it was the summoning and binding of otherworldly beings that she showed a particular talent for.
It wasn't until Laurel had turned 15 that she learned the truth about her heritage, when a middle aged human male arrived at the tower, pleading for Laurel's mother and begged for her aid and completely surprised to see a young girl there. The kitsune's father was a famed adventurer and warrior, one who had traveled between the planes righting wrongs and fighting against the forces of darkness... and had spent a night of passion with a kitsune all those years ago. The man said that he needed help, and that there was a threat to the entire world, many worlds in fact, and Laurel's mother was the one who could tip the balance. An agreement was struck, goodbyes were whispered to the young girl, and a promise was made to the girl that her mother would return in two weeks time. Laurel's mother nor her father returned.
Since then, Laurel has spent the 8 years since still sequestered away from the world. She studied the books and tomes that her mother had left behind, worked in the gardens within the walls, and continued to hone her abilities. At this point, she's able to easily create circles of binding, wards of protection and detection, and to pull creatures from heaven and hell both and contain them for a time. She has even began to experimenting with altering the forms of the things that she summoned, releasing them after a time usually after restoring them to their original shape. At this point in time, she's began to range outside of her home and into town, eager to explore the society she's only ever heard about, as well as to meet all sorts of new and interesting people.

Tower of the Painted Tail: Her home for her entire life, the tower is much closer to a keep, with an enclosed grounds with extensive herb gardens and even a gatehouse that can be closed if the need ever arises. The tower is several stories high, including floors dedicated to libraries, bedrooms and living areas, with the top floor being dedicated to magical research and experiments. The basements contain several root gardens, and her most powerful summoning circle in the most stable location in the building, reinforced to the point where even an enraged pit fiend would have trouble breaking free, or even causing damage in the attempt.
