Backstory

In all the old stories about monsters, it always ends the same way, with the some "hero" coming up and killing the monster. Sometimes even while the monster is asleep, or otherwise horribly hindered.

This was the line of reasoning that lead to Kate List to give an oath to protect monsters how ever she could. She became a self-proclaimed knight, and got to work searching for monsters to help, and heroes to thwart. At first it was pretty slow going, being just a student, and having never actually seen a monster before. None of these things stopped her on her quest to save the monsters that she had only heard about in legend. As luck would have it, her persistence finally payed off, when she stumbled on a tanuki who had gotten caught in a trap. Needless to say the Tanuki was saved, and she gave her a gift, and played a trick on her, as well as taught her how to leave her mundane world, and find the mystical places where monsters roamed.

Appearance

Though she claims herself to be a knight, Lady List never really wears the trappings of one. She is normally just dressed like the young girl she is, t-shirts, tank tops, jeans, shorts, and usually some sort of sneakers are her normal garb. Her very long read hair is almost always put into a butt-length braid, and her green eyes compliment her pale freckled skin. The only items typically on her person that seem a bit odd are her are a pair of wide wooden toy swords, one strapped to her side, and another on her back, as well as a white mask with a green leaf pattern on it's head, which sits on her other side.

The Tanuki Mask: A gift given to Lady List by the Tanuki she saved. It binds with the owner, and while it must be on the owner's person to access it's power, the power can not be used while it is being worn on a face. The mask is snow white, save for a green leaf marking on the top of the head. The mask gives it's owner to turn into any non-magical object. The transformation is instantaneous, but whatever she turns into will always bare her likeness. (a statue will be of her, a notebook will have her face on the cover) While she can't move, unless the object could move on its own accord, she still has all of her senses. List may also make minor changes to her body, and allows for others to turn List into, or add her to, a body part of theirs, and allows her to do the reverse to a willing participant.


The Tanuki Curse: Though the Tanuki was incredibly grateful for List's help, she couldn't help but have a little fun and curse the girl, giving List a desire to give herself as food or as a play thing to even the most dangerous of monsters. Of course not wanting to doom the girl who'd just saved her, the curse comes with a magical protection to bring her back to life whenever she dies due to the curse. On the other hand, the curse also gave her the ability to swallow whole things even larger then herself, and a driving hunger to devour humans, though she may safely let them out later if she chooses, which List normally does.


Romantic Information

Relationship wise, Kate is extremely poly-amorous, meaning that she can fall in love with multiple people at once. In addition, the young night is very much bi, happy to play with boys, girls, and everything in between. Unfortunately for long term relationships, her constant search for adventure has made it hard for her to really have anything too long term so far, but she is looking for someone(s) to change that. Typically, Kate is attracted to people she views as strong/powerful, and naturally leans to those who are in some way supernatural, though neither of these are hard fast rules. She can be either submissive or dominate given the situation. One thing of note, is when she falls for someone, is she tends to fall for them hard, and sometimes fast as well. In her fits of great passion she has been known to go to crazy lengths to protect those she cares about from harm. She is prone to heartbreak, given her wandering life, but the pain doesn't last long before she is pulled into a new adventure.
