An umbrella that was left unused and became a youkai.
She was originally an umbrella that someone forgot, but since the color is unpopular, nobody ever picked her up, and she was carried off by the wind and became a youkai.
She rarely really hurts anyone, she just likes watching people be surprised.
However, not many people have been surprised by her, so she's reading classic ghost stories to improve her technique.
Kogasa just wants to surprise people. She hasn't been very successful so far. She tried to scare the heroine, Reimu, just for fun... but she was beaten easily. Later on, she decided to go to Byakuren's Temple to try and scare her, but instead, she met Sanae and got beaten again...
Personality
Kogasa isnt nessecarily mean...sure, she likes spooking people and playing pranks...but she really is doing it more as a form of greeting...in the end she is very very friendly, even for a youkai, and will even come up to humans and ask for friendship and even hugs from time to time.
...needless to say she ends up scaring people that way more often, though she doesn't like scaring them like that.
Kogasa also has one of the most even tempers of any youkai, even byakuren herself...its neigh impossible to get her mad at anyone for any reason.
Other things of note
Kogasa has a condition known as heterochromia...in essence, she has two different eye colors.
The umbrella is a conscious living being, and will lick you if you muss with it, be forwarned.
Kogasa -loves- rain and will not hesitate to go out in it...though, ironically, she also wont open up her umbrella during rain storms, wanting to feel the rain on her.
Kogasa's favorite food is a tie between Chocolate, caramel, and habeneros in any form....if you give her any combination of the above, expect a cute kiss!
....conesquently, expect a lot of cute pouting if you dont give either to her.
