A knight errant is a knight that seeks a chance to test their military prowess, the opportunity to spread chivalric ideals, and engage in real adventures far from their homeland.
Lady Zerys Monomine(Taking 'Errant' as her adventuring name) is one such knight! Born to a voluptuous, fertile woman, consquently being the ninth of sixteen children(with a twin!) in line for her family's fortune means being a proper landed noble is an unlikely future. So rather than be another tool for a marriage alliance, or a flirtatious courtier in some distant foreign realm, Zeris became a squire to a local knight, learning to fight monsters and bandits and training herself physically and mentally. Though most remarkable is her enthusiasm and undyingly chivalric attitude in which she conducts herself. While a mediocre fighter at best with petty magic abilities that most people can shrug off, few can match this knight's overflowing enthusiasm and can-do attitude. While childish and naive, she values the council of nobles and serves under them with impressive diligence. No matter how subpar her combat skills are, having an extra body around like her has its benefits.
She doesn't often return to her family's fortress! Though she writes frequently, regaling her younger and elder siblings with tales of valor and chivalry, and her dreams of finding true love and glory. Though the stories she sends back aren't always accurate. To save face, she's had to cut out some of the more... questionable events. It's not like anyone needs to know the spicy details, right?
