Kemmet

The conspiracy theorists were right! Reptilians who secretly control us walk in our midst without us even realizing it! The lizard people control...

Actually they were right, past tense. And that's part of the reason Kemmet is looking for answers, see she's the only one LEFT.

Kemmet stands a couple of inches shy of six foot. Her build fairly typical for the humans she blends into, though her 4 foot of reptilian tail, green skin and untamed long deep red hair means surely she would stand out right. But we'll get to that.

Personality wise Kemmet is in essence a teenager of the Annuraku race. Letting her loose with the tools of their authority and no supervision tends to let her act hedonistically and impulsively, coupled with her being adrift in a very curiousity inspiring and strange modern world she has more than enough to distract her from her actual goal of finding out what happened.

And what did happen. Well, thousands of years ago the Annuraku came to earth from their homeworld of Nibiru fleeing either a disaster or a victorious enemy. Their numbers were much diminished, their technology limited to what their vessels could carry with them. In order to survive they blended annuraku DNA with that of a furred annurakanoid species to create a slave race. In order to keep their servants in line they engineered the language of their slaves to program their mind to respond to certain visual keys. These keys are symbols the Annuraku could display to be seen by their slaves to compel obedience, or any of a number of other effects. For thousands of years the Annuraku dwelled on earth served by what would become known as humanity and then...

They vanished, except for one. Kemmet waking up thousands of years later to find humanity much more advanced and her people now absent. Getting to the bottom of this is one of her ongoing quests assuming the liberation from Annuraku adult supervision doesn't result in her getting sidetracked completely.

And now we finally loop back to why Kemmet isn't noticed when she stands out so distinctly amidst humans. She wears the symbol of normality printed on the rim of a headband she wears, with it anyone will see what they expect to see when they look at her. A human of her height and build, certainly nothing worth being alarmed or paying attention to. This also means she can start eating someone alive in public, or fucking them, or walk around with a gurgling belly and no one will pay attention.

Kemmet can also compel forgetfulness, sleep, or a state of obedience with other symbols she keeps drawn on flash cards in a pocket about her person. For those wondering, all human languages are derived from the language of slaves and retain the programming effect and even extra terrestrials or interplanar visitors (though kemmet works best in worlds where she's the odd one out) who are fluent in a terrestrial language are affected. As to why Kemmet isn't? All Annuraku have to learn 'the language of the masters' which has no other purposes except to act as an innoculation against the language of the slave's mental programming, it's not really ever spoken aloud and good luck if you ever expect kemmet to teach you.
