Katten

Important: Although Katten has a spellbook and access to magic, I do not use magic to escape predators on the view that I consider it overpowered and cheap. The spells in Katten's spellbook are fully listed, and are complicated enough for them to be unusable without the book.

Personality

Katten is a focused person. He is not easily distracted from a task he is given. He doesn't mind people talking to him, but he doesn't give away too much about himself. He is an expert at lying, having had years of practice, though he only uses his ability to lie well if he needs to. To his friends, Katten is an individual who will listen to problems and try to offer what advice he can do. While happy in the light, he prefers darkness. He despises people who wield weapons, since he sees people who use them as cowards who need to hide their abilities. Ever since his 'resurrection' he has become more playful and mischievous. This is more open the closer to someone he is. However, he holds his 'urges' back for those closest to him.

History

Katten was once owned by a wizard who watched the world develop for millennia. The wizard was the last of his line and had no student to pass on his mission and his teachings. Wanting to see his mission done, he began to look for a suitable apprentice, Katten being the first person the wizard came across. Katten and the Wizard became good friends but despite the two of them searching they couldn't find somebody suitable. Katten was captured by the wizard during this time. At the end of his life, the wizard had one final idea to allow someone to keep watch over the world. He couldn't perform it on himself, but he had a ritual that could turn somebody into an undead that could watch over the world until it ended naturally. Although reluctant initially, Katten agreed to be the subject of the ritual and as a reault, became a Mew lich. His skin, fur and internal organs were destroyed during the ritual, leaving him as a skeleton. His soul was stored in the pokéball he was kept in. The pokéball now serves as his Phylactery, bringing him back if his body is ever destroyed. Soon after the ritual, the wizard died and Katten began to travel the world, observing it as his former master wished him to do so.
Katten later re-united with his old master in spirit form. The now deceased wizard had found a way to continue to observe the world from his own afterlife. As a result, Katten was freed from his mission to watch the world go by and given the chance to return to life. With help from Xavia he was resurrected and returned to flesh and blood.

Abilities by form

Mew: Synchronise: If he suffers from a harmful condition, the inflicter suffers from the same condition.
Cyndaquil: Flash Fire: Fire attacks are nullified and his own fire moves are strengthened.
Floatzel: Swift Swim: During rain, he moves twice as fast.
Dragonite: Inner Focus: Attacks cannot cause him to stagger or flinch.

Possessions

All possessions are kept in his home which only chosen few and he know the location of. His home is sealed by a special lock only his power can open.

Pokéball: An aged pokéball that has lost its color. It serves as his Phylactery and holds his soul, allowing himself to remake his body if it is destroyed. Only by destroying this can he be permanently killed or restored to a flesh and blood Mew. This was destroyed by Xavia to bring him back to life.

Spellbook: A spellbook that the wizard who turned him into a lich used. It has the ritual required to turn somebody into a lich along with other spells along with the ritual to undo it. Katten does have the power to do the ritual, but is reluctant to do so and will only do it upon request by someone he likes enough. See below for the spells in the book.

Spells in Katten's Spellbook

Reproductive enchantment: A spell that can only be given to females. This enchantment gives a female creature full control over her reproductive cycle. This allows her to choose whether a mating with a male will make her pregnant or not, giving females a defence against an unwanted pregnancy and serving as the strongest contraceptive. The effects of this spell are permanent.

Breathing lock: This spell will disable the breathing of those who it's effect without killing them. While under the effects of the spell, they do not breathe and are able to survive in areas where they would normally asphyxiate, such as underwater. This spell only lasts for 7 days and once the 7 day period is over, the person is left gasping for 24 hours.

Heat wall: This spell will grant those who are affected by it protection from heat. While the affected person can still be cooked, but they will not be killed by the effects of extreme heat. However, this spell comes with a side effect of being weaker to colder temperatures. This spell lasts for 24 hours.

Cold wall: This spell will grant those who are affected by it protection from cold. They will still be able to be frozen solid, but they will never be killed by extremely cold temperatures. In the event of being frozen solid, someone will be able to break out of it by trying to move enough. However, this spell comes with a side effect of being weaker to warmer temperatures. This spell lasts for 24 hours.

Acid wall: This spell will grant those affected by it a temporary immunity to stomach acid. With this spell, a creature is indigestible, but they can still potentially drown in a creature's stomach acids if they get submerged in it. This spell lasts 24 hours.

Shape change: this spell does exactly what it sounds like. It turns objects into other objects of Katten's choosing. However it can't transform everything. If the chosen object is living, or has a living thing touching it, the spell won't work. This spell's effect is permanent.

Lifegiver: This spell is very powerful. It is able to bring life back to someone providing that there is a fragment of their DNA remaining. However, the spell requires rare material components to use, which Katten rarely looks for on his own. Also, the subject's soul must be willing to return to life, otherwise it will not work. People who were killed by age cannot be brought back to life by this spell.

Life preserver: This spell can grant the person affected a defence against premature death. The target will self-resurrect if they are ever killed before their designated time of death in their own home bed. However, when they wake up they will remember the events leading up to their death, including their death, and they will also have a chilling knowledge of the day they will die, but not the time of day when death will come.

Planar shape: This is an exceptionally powerful spell that Katten has only used once in his entire like. This spell can create a small plane of existence, usually about 100 square feet in size and 20 feet in height, with the properties of the plane matching that of the planet Katten was on at the time of casting. This spell can then be combined with the shape change spell to shape the appearance of the plane. This spell is very expensive to perform and can take up to a month to fully complete. The plane will only be accessible at certain points by use of a magic phrase determined at the time of casting. Katten has made his home in a plane that he created with this spell and only a select few are allowed there.
