Name: Katriana Michelle Thorne, Kat for short.. and doesn't much care for being called Michelle.
Height: 5'6" (167.64cm)
Race: Human
Age: 24 ( Birthday October 13th )

Katriana isn't exactly your typical paladin... Fiery, aggressive... she likes to indulge herself a bit too, particularly with good alcohol, although her tolerance is well enough that it doesn't hinder her work too badly. Of course, her relatively lax moral values tend to put her at odds with her superiors more often than not ( hence the adopted surname Thorne ), which depending on her boss' mood, either lands her a suicide mission ( her favorite kind ) or a desk job ( her least favorite kind ). This of course isn't due to any lack of piety on her part, she's quite dedicated to her goals.. but she considers those 'secondary' tenants of her order to be baggage somewhere between useless and harmful to her.

On a mission she carries these principles with her, completing objectives at almost any cost, only following two rules: Never harm an innocent and Always fight for the the greater good. This however, does not preclude her from inflicting property damage, getting in fights, breaking laws, or even killing.. Which has a tendency to put her at odds city guards and zealots. She'll tell you any day that there's a clear distinction between those who protect the law and those who protect the people.

As for a patron deity? Katriana doesn't have one, at least not that she knows of... She's committed to an ideal, and will offer herself to any patron deity that gives her the chance to uphold such laws and ideals.... That leaves the question of where her powers come from up in the air, but she doesn't like to dwell on that one too long.

Armaments
In her standard set of equipment, Katriana carries with her a Claymore ( 140cm(55in) 2.7kg(6lbs) ) sheathed across her back , and a throwing knife-slender, bladed on both sides a 6 inch blade and a straight, leather wrapped handle, excellently balanced-and a throwing axe-double bladed, made of a dark metallic substance-resting at her belt.

However, the two handed sword is not her most comfortable choice of weapon... her preferred fighting style a small tower shield and a more slender, basket hilted blade.

Abilities


Katriana has at her disposal a fairly powerful, aggressive set of holy magic: Blinding lights, blessing weapons and armor, inspiring zeal and fervor, smiting touches.. and even a few spells of protection and shielding at her disposal.. Of course, because of her offensive focus, her abiilty to heal wounds is almost nonexistent... She can heal minor scratches, and maybe buy a mortally wounded comrade a few minutes, but little more than that.


However, Katriana's abilities do have an odd quality to them. To the casual observer, and even most other magic users, nothing would seem amiss. To an extremely skilled mage, or perhaps a powerful angelic or demonic creature, or a deity.. Her powers seemed more like some other form of magic.. very cleverly disguised to mimic holy energies.



Beyond the standard however, Kat possess two unique powers worth mentioning

Sheathe of Light: Or at least, that's the fancy name for it. In reality this rapidly converts Katriana's more revealing, casual armor and arms into a proper suit of battlegear, although she tends to only use this ability when absolutely necessary, as it drains her afterwards....Her armor is almost entirely replaced by a full suit of heavy, brilliant silver platemail- although even in this suit of armor she does not wear a helmet- Her weaponry changes as well, Her claymore shrinks to about three quarters its original length, becoming a slim basket hilted weapon, and she gains a massive tower shield... Naturally all this extra gear vastly hinders her movement, but leaves her almost impervious to mundane physical attacks when fully sheathed.... At a much lesser personal cost, she can simply conjure her sword and shield in a pinch.


Her final ability however doesn't have a real name... She hasn't bothered to come up with one and very few people beyond her know its nature. She doesn't know where it came from, or how it works, but it's immensely powerful. She can with a simple touch, transform someone into an utterly inanimate object and imprison their soul inside her body. Of course, the more powerful and willful the subject, the more concentration it requires on her part to properly complete the ritual, with a significantly powerful being simply being able to shrug off the ability without any ill effects. In addition, because the spell locks the victim inside her own body instead of inside the inanimate object, a victim with strong enough willpower can influence Katriana's thoughts and actions... to the point where someone strong enough might be able to seize control with enough effort! Despite the drawbacks though, there is obviously great advantage to being able to instantly remove an enemy from a fight, or be able to conceal and transport an ally discreetly. And while she doesn't know it and has never tried it, the power has a more sinister application: Devouring the souls of her captives in order to fuel her gifts even further.
