Story
The power of a divine being trapped in a fabricated body. Karukiya is a fake goddess, the inheritor of amazing power and the lot in life of a slave. She was designed to harness the abilities of a murdered celestial servant, intended to maintain the dead goddess' sphere so that the laws of nature continued to be enforced. The procedure was purely theoretical at the time of implementation, an untested concept that was not without its flaws and shortcomings.
The memories of the old goddess, Karikayu, persist within the new form. She maintains her individuality and personality, much to the chagrin of the Weavers of Fate. When the union was complete, the new form maintained its sentience and independence, and sought to continue as though its death had never occurred. Naturally this was unacceptable, and so the synthetic deity was restrained, bound and gagged, her hands shackled and feet cemented to her sphere so that her entire existence was devoted to the realm of her Celestial mandate.
There was only one problem: Karikayu had been the Baroness of Boundaries, the Monarch of Margins, the Empress of Edges, the Countess of Confines, the Princess of Perimeters, etc. Her business was barriers and borders, her dominion was divisions and demarcations. And even as the newly incarnated Karukiya that power remained. She used it to escape, and has been on the run ever since, disguised (albeit poorly) as a mortal being and hiding within the confines of the wavering nexus of pathways that is the park. It represents everything that is anathema to her- the destruction and disregarding of all boundaries- and as such is the perfect place to hide and wait, allowing the commotion in the heavens to calm down within the relative safety of the park.

Name: Varozait
Race: Magical Construct
Circle: Terrestrial
Position: Protector of Divinity
Story
As it turns out, the park was not the faultless haven Karukiya thought it to be. She was followed by another construct, called Varozait, this one a fierce and feared Protector of Divinity. The relentless order of celestial champions is tasked with seeking out and suppressing those who would presume to take on the power of the gods, to ensure that divinity remains only in the hands of those capable of wielding it responsibly. They obey no one but the gods, and it was under the command of the heavens that one followed Karukiya into the park. Upon arriving, the vengeful Protector sought out Karukiya with intent to kill her for usurping Karikayu. Only, when she encountered the artificial goddess, Varozait was confronted and commanded by her target's undeniable birthright. Just as they are tasked with killing pretenders to divinity they must defend actual gods, and Karukiya was, by that point, a full deity. She ordered Varozait to accompany her and defend her, which the Protector begrudgingly followed. |
