Forgotten Celebrant - Ancient Divine Beast
In times of war, ancient spellcasters sculpted warriors from clay.
Seven foot tall. Muscular, bestial. Sharp teeth and claws, winding tails.
Cloven hooves to march endlessly. Rock-covered hides to deflect the strongest blows.
Animated by divine and arcane power, given might to oppose their enemies.
These 'Divine Beasts', juggernauts as they were, were made for battle and war.
Those that survived were hailed. Glorified as Celebrants, blessed by the gods.
When peace was found and war faded, these beings adjusted from their savage ways.
Made civil, hiding their brutality through a veneer of composure and poise.
When they could not adjust, they were chained beneath the temples they protected.
Long forgotten, the holy monsters of empires long dead, still shackled beneath those walls.
Fortunate for them that the magic in those chains has faltered. Those alive broke free.
Behind the glowing red eyes is a beast. As much as it seems tame;
The facade hides a monster.
