Background

"Wanderer...?"

For the longest time, that had been his role, his title, his life. Having appeared one day in the environs of the Nexus Park and Nexus City - like so many others - he quickly set about making himself at home, branching out his connections to others, learning this land and every one of its secrets he could get at.

"Well, if that's what they call me, I'd better act the part, huh...?"

He moved from place to place, living in the forest and scrounging food, taking up residence in a number of other people's homes - at their invitation, or their insistence - but always moving on, before long. He made memories, he made friends, he made rivals and he made enemies. He made love, and he made war, and he made sure that those he met would remember him.

"So I'll be wanderin', wanderin', wanderin', back to you."

That was four years ago.

Present Day

"Y'get tired of wandering after a while, though. It's all well and good to live in a tree for a few months, until y' look around and realize you're basically a well-dressed hobo."

Today, Kaoru owns a small flat (with a great view) in a moderately-upscale part of Nexus City. He works part-time as a musician, mostly singing, but playing a few select instruments where the work's available. He does odd-jobs on the side, as well, anything that helps him pay the rent and the bills.

"There's more to life than livin'."

He still ventures into the Park quite often, however, always looking for interesting new people to meet, and you can bet he's pleased as ever to be the center of a web of bitter rivalries, deep friendships, whirlwind romances and even darker things...

"And there's more to death than dyin' well."

Somehow, he's survived this long, and even thrived among the hostile environment of the Park. He's well-to-do enough to take trips outside of it - and the wanderlust is still in his heart, enough so that he could concievably be found anywhere - all the world over, and, perhaps, even beyond...

He doesn't talk much about his past, though, not unless pressed. Sure, he's got history. Well over a decade of it. But as he always says, it's the here and now he's concerned with.

Who is he, though? Well...

Description

He's six feet and one inch of Trouble, capital-T included. He's a tall drink of water with a slender build that's grown up just a bit, enough definition to call him "toned" but still have anyone with muscles thinkin' he's a string-bean. He's twenty-three years of Luck, bad, good and in-between, wrapped up in pearl-white skin and a canny grin.

He's looking at you with those deep violet eyes, and all over his face it's written that he's the boy your mothers and fathers warned you about. Classically 'pretty' enough that his boyish features still make him look young, he's got the looks to get any guy or any girl he pleases, and he's not afraid to use them. They called him a bishounen when he was younger, and between his lovely lips, small nose, curvy hips and the long, feminine lines that define his body, he could still easily pull it off.

He goes everywhere barefoot, because he likes to feel the earth between his toes, but somehow, his soles are almost always clean. He wears his gleaming silver hair unbound and lets it hang down to his shoulders, perfect to shroud a kiss with. Some days, that's all he'll wear, but he often prefers to sport various denim jeans or casual slacks, and, often, short-sleeved T-shirts or button-ups (with the top couple of buttons undone.) His body's smooth and clean-shaven everywhere you can see skin, and probably beyond, too.

He'll steal your heart and swallow it whole, if you'll let him. Will you?

Oh, and he glows, too. Did that not get mentioned? Faintly, in the dark, with a slight-but-noticeable white light.

Is he human? Maybe. Maybe not. Is he friendly? Possibly. Is he dangerous? Well, do you want him to be?

Because he'll be happy to be everything you could ever ask for, everything you could ever dream of, and more.

•Character has an ongoing continuity, but you will not be dragged into any plot-things just by interacting with him.
•Bits of character history may come out during play, but I downplay them because they don't really matter here, do they?
•Setting is entirely negotiable, Kaoru can end up just about anywhere, be it other cities or other worlds. He's a mysterious guy, that way.
•Despite the fact that I post a lot, I have no criteria for quality or quantity of response. In laymen's terms: I post a lot. You don't have to, I don't expect you to. Post to whatever lengths make you comfortable or happy.
•Up for short-or-long term play, character development, meaningful friendships and crazy fun. Interested in any of these? Tell me about it.
•I'm extraordinarily whisper-friendly. And I won't bite unless you ask me to...

In prior days, this section of my profile housed an entirely-too-expansive personal notepad of dates, events and occurrences, for me to keep track of ongoing roleplays. As most of the plots have either been resolved, at this point, or the people that I was playing with have left for other shores, it's been replaced by this message. Still not sure what'll go here eventually! For now, a note on my sliders.

If you don't see something down there, it's because it's a case-by-case thing. Feel free to ask me about anything you're curious about, even things you're embarrassed about. Many of those sliders are only rough guidelines to my interest, and most of them are negotiable. Enjoy~

Fatality	Always/Love	+ -- + --	Never/Dislike	You'd have to be a pretty special person for me to agree to perma-death, but scene-death is often the default end-of-vore for me, except in certain ongoing-plot situations. Death has meaning, and I'm glad to embody that.
Reforming	Always/Love	+ -- + --	Never/Dislike	Kaoru doesn't generally (read: almost ever, unless specifically asked) reform in-scene, and being digested will even usually lead me to stop playing him for a few hours, because, again, I believe death should have some meaning.
