Kaltrina

Kaltrina is what some would consider a 'spider-taur'- though, she just thinks of herself as herself. With the torso, arms, and head of a humanoid and the body, legs, and abdomen of a tarantula, she can generate a lot of confusion and argument.

Her spider body is almost entirely a bright, metallic cobalt-blue color, with some yellow (and also metallic) areas around and under the joints of her legs. This part of her has a chitinous exoskeleton that is hidden somewhat by the matchingly blue hair that covers the majority of it. She has eight arachnid legs, and her abdomen has no particular pattern- just that slightly shimmery blue.

The skin of her humanoid part is also a slightly metallic blue, though it's a bit darker than that of her spider body. This part of her seems to lack an exoskeleton, or the body hair that covers her tarantula portion. She tends to make up for this with a selection of robes of various types- including kimono, hanbok, and other silken garments that can drape over her spider body without interfering in the workings of her legs. Thanks to the way her legs carry her, she usually has her head at a height that most people would associate with sitting down- and with her torso sized for a fairly average woman, she can easily give that impression when at a table.

What can be seen of her skin is obviously smooth, and her fine-fingered hands are very dextrous. Her bust is above average size, but the robes she wears don't really show anything off, so it's hard to say beyond that. Her face is pretty enough- round cheeks, a slightly-curved smile, a small pert nose, and eight bright yellow eyes.... yes, eight. Her two main eyes are the right size and shape, but they are surrounded by six more eyes a bit under half their size- two top and center in her forehead, two over her temples, and another pair just outside and below her main eyes, helping to fill out the shape of her face. Naturally, with a pair of eyes over her eyes, she lacks eyebrows- at least, eyebrow hair.

Her face, incidentally, is framed with pretty violet hair- in this case, 'violet' meaning a deep and almost purpleish shade of midnight-blue, like the flowers of the same name. A few locks of this hang in gentle arcs around her face just for the aesthetic of it, the rest pulled into several braids that are coiled fancily around so that they do not fall fully down her back. These are held in place with a set of ornamental yellow clips.

Kaltrina is a bit of an abnormality among spider-women, in that she was raised mostly in human settlements since she was roughly knee-high (to a human). This shows a bit in her bearing and garb- in addition to the silken robes and hair ornaments, she usually has a few packs depending from the sides of her abdomen, clearly marked with the red plus-shapes common to many medics and hospitals.

Yes, she is a medic. While she's a bit learned, she's been much more focused on medical pursuits than anything else, and while her origins leave her well behind those who have gone to the 'medical schools' available in modern settings, she has a broad base of knowledge.
