Kaisei is a tanuki, the only daughter of the Ebisugawa family, one of the multiple families of tanuki secretly living among humans in Kyoto. Complicating this is a group of humans known as the Friday Fellows, who enjoy a tanuki hot pot at their end-of-year celebration every year.
