Life WAS normal enough for Kagami, once upon a time. She was a normal kid at a normal school. Well, normal enough anyway. Now, things are different, but even so, she can't help but think about the way things were.
When she was still Normal, she was nobody special, really. The star of the track team, yes, but too timid for that to have any meaning or appeal for anyone. Too flat, too, probably, but she wasn't that interested anyway. She could run like hell, and that was it. Aside from that, she made average grades, had a few friends, and generally kept to herself. She was one of the quiet, timid ones.... still is, to some degree. And, well, then, as now, she was prone to spacing out, losing herself in her own thoughts.
Then Everything Changed.
It happened one night, after a particularly long track team practice. She was headed home, in the dark, when she ran into the strangest woman. After a rather brief conversation, and introductions, the lady said something odd.
"Say hello to Nue for me."
And then the ground under Kagami's feet disappeared, as she dropped through the /strangest/ purple, eyeball-filled portal, to land squarely atop
Houjuu_Nue, knocking her into the river and landing in there herself with a splash! Soaking wet, things got a bit awkward, until Nue realized what had happened.
From there? Well, things got interesting. Kagami got taken in by Nue, and shares a room with her now. She's not quite sure what to make of all of this, but... well, to be honest, she was never terribly happy back home. Now, well, things are Different, and this place feels... Familiar. She might just grow to like it here....
She's adapting well, so far. She's made new friends, and not any new enemies, at least so far, so that's good. She's seen firsthand how violent Gensokyo can be, as well, thanks to a near-death experience, and an event that followed, as her hostess Byakuren got into a rather nasty fight with someone else. It was enough to wake her up after her own encounter with Yuuka.
From there? Well, she's been meeting still more new people. Sanae was nice and friendly, and Utsuho and Nitori are both adorable. Aya seemed friendly enough, as well... but, well, someone else really caught her attention. Especially after a little mishap involving Nue and some hot springs...
